The apartment's location is great. A ramp up to the city wall is very close by (nice for evening strolls), as are great coffee bars, churches, and the train station. The bed is super comfortable -- a firm mattress that feels new. The apartment is on the third floor with no elevator, and its bedroom and bathroom are in a loft, so people who don't like stairs should not choose this apartment. We had no trouble with the stairs, though; they were well lit and wide enough to navigate with luggage. Communicating with the host was easy.

Effeto Cittadella has a great location, about a 10 minute walk from the train station and across a paid parking lot for people with a car. As mentioned in the description, it’s in a third floor without elevator, but Giulia was very friendly and helped us with the luggage. The apartment is nice and comfortable and the washer was a definite plus.

Hosts were friendly and accessible. They reacted quickly to resolve a problem. The apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable and I had all I needed. Location was perfect - close to the wall for a daily walk and minutes to most of the old city. Very handy to rail station. My only comment is that there could have been better notice of the 3 flights of stairs to the apartment door. This could be a real problem for some.

We stayed here in July and were looked after by Giannino and his daughter Giulia from start to finish. Over our 10 days there, they checked on us regularly to ensure all was OK with our stay. They ensured we had regular change of linen, garbage collected and the occasional treat from the local bakery (which was a surprising & welcome extra!). Located just inside the wall of old Lucca, we were a short distance to all the attractions, restaurants, cafes etc so would recommend highly for those who love to stroll around enjoying the sights instead of having to drive.

The TV was quite small although we weren't there to watch television - but the Paris Olympics were on, so I was up close with my vino!

The location of the apartment was very convenient and we really enjoyed our stay in Lucca. Our host met us at the property when we arrived. She offered suggestions on restaurants and things to do. We had a marvelous time exploring the city by foot and we rented E-Bikes (which were just a couple doors down from the apartment) and were able to get out of town to see some Villas. We really appreciated having the washing machine and all the other thoughtful amenities the apartment had to offer.

Everything! The owner even collected us from the train station (his suggestion) and was very helpful throughout our stay. Lovely spacious apartment with a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook (as we did one night). Great location just inside the walls of Lucca.

Wife not happy about me grizzling about carrying her bag up several flights of stairs :-) Be aware the bedroom/bathroom is on a mezzanine. Not a problem for us but may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.

Perfect location just inside the town wall, with all the old town within easy walking distance.

Stairs are very steep, we managed but could be an issue for some.

The apartment was spacious and with a good atmosphere. The washing machine was great. Gianinno the host was excellent. He met us at the railway station as the train was delayed and it was raining. He could not have been more helpful and even delivered some lovely sweet biscuits to our door. Highly recommended.
