André Santos who is the apartment manager is not professional at all is very odd, not answering questions, except when it comes to paying more. Fortunately, his colleague is much more helpful.

Mariana is the best hostess you can ever ask for, the moment we walked in she was so welcoming, gave us an essay of suggestions for things to do in Porto and provided a lovely bottle of Port - best experience.

"Superb"

The apartment was in a great location, 5 minute walk to the metro, and well located for seeing everything Porto has to offer. It was very spacious for our group and such great value!! Above all, our host was so lovely, provided us with lots of information to help make our stay better, and on hand to help with any issues we had. She even booked us an airport transfer for our return day home.

A few minor bits of decor/furniture that could do with a refresh or a quick fix, but nothing that hindered our stay in any way.

The host was nice and gave us a lot of travel tips

The boiler didn’t switch on during our stay, let us have no shower at the 1st night. No hairdryer available until we left, the host avoid to sort out for us. The property has poor facilities, the shower door almost worn off. Water blockage in the toilet after showering No flushing in one of the toilets

"Disappointing"

Disappointing Communication and Host Attitude We stayed as a group of six and were excited for our trip, but unfortunately, the experience with the host, Andre, left a lot to be desired. Several days prior to our arrival, we reached out to Andre to discuss our check-in options, as we knew we’d be arriving after the stated check-in hours (23:00). Despite reading our message, he did not respond. We followed up the next day but were again ignored. On the day of arrival, we still hadn’t received any response, leaving us anxious about how we would check in. One of our group members, who wasn’t the primary booking owner, eventually reached out to him directly. Andre responded, but in a passive-aggressive tone, upset that someone other than the booking owner had contacted him – even though we were all staying at his apartment! His reaction made it seem as though we were random strangers when, in reality, we were his paying guests. This toxic communication style made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable throughout the process. Furthermore, when arrangements for a late check-in were finally made, Andre again used a passive-aggressive tone, implying we hadn’t thanked him enough for making the accommodation. This is simply not how you treat guests. The experience was disappointing, and Andre’s behavior negatively impacted what should have been a smooth and enjoyable stay. Communication and basic respect are crucial in hospitality, and sadly, this was lacking in our case. Even after we checked out and told him we didn’t appreciate the way he spoke to us, he repeated that we should’ve said “thank you, André,” as if respect was a one-way street. It’s hypocritical for a host to demand respect while being disrespectful and rude to their guests.
