We were lucky enough to stay during the São João Festival, and it was an unforgettable experience. The fireworks were spectacular, and the tradition of everyone playfully hitting each other with plastic hammers was wonderfully bizarre and so much fun! The live music, street parties, incredible fireworks, and thousands of illuminated lanterns filling the night sky created an amazing atmosphere. A special thank you to Andre, our apartment manager. He was outstanding—so proud of Porto and passionate about sharing its traditions. His invaluable advice about the festival and the best ways to experience it made our trip even more memorable. Thank you, Andre, for your kindness and excellent recommendations. We couldn't have asked for a better host!
