Quarters on DOT by Thatch

Relatively close to everything downtown Boston.

Main floor room was close to stairs and front door and all night people were coming and going. Price cheapest in Boston but still overpriced. Clean but no cleaning, coffee or fresh towels during a 3 night stay.

Accessing the property.

I booked this room for my son and his partner. The room was very unclean with hair strangely stuck on the wall and one on the bedsheet. The walls were chipped and badly patched. The AC window unit wiring and heating unit below was poorly secured to wall. The bathroom situation was worse. Guests from other floors were travelling to use the two on his floor making them difficult to access. Walls were thin and conversations audible. Noise from the bathroom was constant with previous guests leaving their soiled towels behind. The street noise was excessive with an apparent crime taking place outside his window. Please cars and blue lights were evident until 2am. This was a Thursday night. We booked him elsewhere for the remainder of his weekend in Boston. Initially the weekend team at Thatch was very responsive and apologetic, but I've had no follow up from the Monday to Friday team. We sent photographs of all of the above, but as yet, no response.

The location was good in terms of proximity to city centre compared to its price. The facilities were good: water was hot, beds were comfy. When I had a query the staff were quick to respond and helpful. There was also a bag storage location almost next door that allowed me to store my bag safely after checkout for 5$ for 24hr which was great!

Unfortunately the property is right next to three very noisy things: bar across the road, junction where every night we had very angry drivers blast their horns in the early hours of the morning, and the planes overhead. Due to the AC units in the window, you can't close out the noise so I'd 100% recommend noise cancelling headphones - this is what saved me! I've noticed that the US doesn't really do soft-close doors in hotels/hostels etc so if you have neighbours who keep going in and out, due to the proximity of the rooms to each other, the slamming doors can take some getting used to - again cannot stress noise cancelling headphones enough!

Upon my arrival, the code assigned to me did not open the front door, nor did it open my room door. I was stuck outside the property for over an hour, as the hosts were not replying to any of my texts, calls and emails. Luckily, a guest of the property allowed me inside whilst i waited. I checked my room, which was assigned to me after booking confirmation, to which i found there were still people inside of my room. This was a business trip for myself, which i had a meeting to attend later in the evening, so i had to book another hotel in the city and leave. Very disappointed

Very good location. Kitchen very well stocked.

Unpleasant smell in the bathroom

Great lively location which felt safe. Great bus stops nearby. Quiet property.

Small room with a few markings, but expected with price.
