Extended Stay Apartments Next to Downtown

The photos don’t accurately show what you’re getting into with this property. The suite smells stale and musty, like it used to be occupied by a smoker. There are handprints and marks on the walls and doors. There is mould on the tile and grout in the shower. The bath tub is worn and the coating chipped. There is water leaking out of the exhaust fan in the bathroom, creating an electrical hazard. There are numerous stains on the rugs which creates an icky feel about the place. Some of the cabinetry is falling off its hinges, and doors don’t close properly. The general fit and finish of the property is poor, and a few pieces of newer furniture (that look attractive in the photos) don’t make up for it. The walls are thin and you can hear everything that happens in the units above and to each side. The location is absolutely not “next to downtown”. The neighbourhood is sketchy and not the safest at night. Travellers beware. Finally, when I communicated some of these issues with the host, I received a reply whose content and tone could be summed up as: “Your problem”. I am so dissatisfied with my stay at this property and the service (or lack thereof) received. I would not recommend this property, or its host.

Unclean, many broken stuff

We loved the location, cleanliness, and friendliness of the staff when we were in communication.

There is not a TV in the bedrooms. After a long day of togetherness it would have been nice to unwind in separate rooms and while laying down lol.

Everything was perfect

Comfortable bed, roomy apartment, nicely decorated, host very responsive

Complex was dark, dirty, parking lot was flooded, trash bin were flooded over with trash. Not a good impression.

Cockroaches in the bathroom and last minute information re a broken dishwasher

Apartment was exactly as described. Nice amenities. Tea bags! There are never tea bags so that was a nice touch. Location was good. Relatively close to downtown and an easy drive to Trader Joe's if you shop there. Other grocery stores and shops much closer.

Strong smell of cigarette smoke from neighboring apartments which isn't the owner's fault but was a big downside for me. I rewashed my towels because it was so embedded in the linens. I eventually stopped using one bathroom because I realized it was coming into the apartment from downstairs. If cigarette smoke doesn't bother you, you'll be fine.
