Location and character of property

No coffee or milk provided. The smoke alarm was malfunctioning very disturbing at night, had to get up and press button to keep it quiet.

We stayed in Villa 5 which was above the Garages at the rear of the main building. It was clean comfortable and very spacious with a very large patio area exclusive to the unit. The unit had a lacquered decorated floor which was absolutely fine but did not give the unit a plush feel. Access to parking on the premises was easy but a bit tight sometimes when delivery vehicles are around but having a dedicated Garage was a bonus.

Location was an easy 20-25 minute pleasant walk along the promenade to the main business area however only a couple of hundred meters from the Hospital. There were numerous ambulances during the day passing with loud sirens, these eased late at night as traffic was light. The Hospital Emergency Helipad is also close by and is intrusive when landing and taking off at anytime. Not recommended for light sleepers.

Bottom Line Up Front: pet friendly room is not two bedrooms. Property didnt tell me when I made the booking. Property refused even a partial refund and ghosted me on Booking.com's messager app. Unprofessional. I made a booking at Floriana Villas for a two bedroom, two bed villa that allows pets. Shortly after making the reservation through Booking.com, I was contacted by the property, to inform me that the room I booked (Villa 4) was not pet friendly and that I would have to switch to Villa 5, which is. Thinking nothing of it, I agreed. Fast forward to the day we arrived; it turns out that Villa 5 is one bedroom and one bed. This cannot work for us. The property offered an alternative; a second room in the hotel next door - for $200.00 a night. This cannot work for us either. I message the property and request to cancel the reservation; stating that due to the late notice I would be satisfied to negotiate on the refund. I wait 24 hours for the property to respond. Nothing. They called once, whilst I was driving and couldn't answer the phone; didn't leave a message. I would prefer to have communication in writing in situations like this, so I blocked their number - the messaging section of Booking.com is still readily available. No further communication from the property was forthcoming; not even a reply to my offer of a compromise. I raise a dispute ticket with Booking.com, detailing the situation. Seeing as the property did not inform me that Villa 5 was one room, I felt it was unfare that I was stung with the full cost of a two bedroom reservation that I cannot use. Booking.com's response was AI generated, saying they would look into it. Then I received an email with an international phone number I needed to call. I called the number (which was in London, UK) and was met with an AI operator on the other end. This AI operator was predictably useless; unable to understand my issue, or the cotext of what I was saying.

Lage direkt an der Strandpromenade, sehr geschmackvolle Inneneinrichtung. Schöner Blick von der Terrasse aufs Meer, alles fußläufig erreichbar. Sehr zu empfehlen!,

The Villa was exceptionally clean. it is very spacious and comfortable, nicely decorated

The restaurant next door, closed at 10pm each night which was noisy with guests sitting outside and then you could hear the cleaning of dishes for another hour, this was heard mainly from the back bedroom There are also permanent tenants in the building and next door would practice their music instrument early in the morning, so it was impossible to sit on the verandah and relax Unfortunately, it is on a main road, so the traffic is constant and not relaxing sitting on the verandah or leaving the doors open. Once inside and with everything shut, the noise from the road and Neighbour wasn't too bad but being warm the fresh air would have been good.

Property was very spacious and well located on the Esplanade. All amenities available in the flat (washing machine, dishwasher, A/C and ceiling fans, etc) as well as secured parking. Balcony looking over the water was a great breakfast spot. Access with lockbox couldn't be easier and convenient. Will definitely book again when I come back to Cairns.

Очень милый хозяин нас встретил и проводил. Без него бы мы долго ориентировались. У нас было самостоятельное пребывение, как дома, а не как в отеле. Завтраки удобны в разных кафе поблизости.

Уборка в апартаментах могла бы быть лучше. Но это тропики.
