Castello Ripa Baveno

The apartment is state-of-the-art and modern in a historic stone castle. It had very interesting lighting and well equiped kitchen. It was nice to have a washing machine and actual laundryroom.

The location is quite a walk to town and from the train station with luggage. In fairness, our train was late and Silvano had come to pick us up at the station. Mis-communication. He was very helpful to us and called a taxi for our departure.

The idea to spend a night in a castle was the main reason to get this accommodation! It was great! Even the stories about this castle it's fascinating!

We arrived late to Baveno due to train and bus challenges. After arriving at 7 pm, we searched for the hotel for 1.5 hours following the location on google maps and one shared by hotel through booking.com; unfortunately, we were not able to find the hotel. There were no signs leading to the hotel. We saw the castle, but it was all dark, no lights lit in any of the rooms, entrance, hallway, yard, etc. We asked people around and they confirmed that they do not know. We tried to ask a nearby hotel (Albergo Di Ripa) but they were also closed (lights on but no one inside). We called the hotel through the following number but received no answer 00393381501038 We ended up checking in at 8:30 pm in Hotel Beaurivage given that we did not find the hotel and was not able to contact the staff. We kindly like to let you know that we faced a very bad experience as tourists and first-time visitors. We felt unsafe at night, not knowing where to go and search and who to ask. We recrived a message from the hotel and respinded back with the above feedback. The hotel staff was very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional in their response which are two traits we did not see in Baveno. We are very happy that we experienced the challenges we did and did not reach Castello Ripa. I reiterate that there are no signs, no lights, no directions and NO ONE knew about the hotel. We explored the area in the morning the next day and still did not see any signs and did not find the entrance of the hotel. Highlighting that we called the number when we arrived to Baveno but no one answered which is also another downfall for their business. Happy that we enjoyed Baveno and had a great experience in the other hotel.

The property was in a good location for us, we found just a 10 min walk in to Baveno which was a good time to enjoy a gelato.
