Apartamento histórico en el Barri Vell, Girona

Unreal place, unreal location - Very very cool place to stay. The place is a renovated building from the 1500's and they've incorporated some original elements of the building and tied it in with really new, upgraded features. The location is legit awesome too, right in the heart of the old town area, you can walk to everything in like 2 minutes. Definitely a 10/10 place for me.

Not a dislike per se, just more of a word of advice from a mistake I made - My only area to give you advice would be the check-in process - We walked from the taxi to the place (Note, taxi's struggle to get there due to the smaller, older medieval streets, so don't go with a large, heavy suitcase) - We were sent a check-in email but it was in Spanish, and what we didn't realize is that you need to go to an offsite office which is roughly a 25-minute walk away from the place to pick up the keys. So, just be cognizant to pick up your keys, prior to heading to the the apartment itself.

The apartment is as advertised- modern, bright, clean, airy and is situated in the heart of the beautiful, historical medieval Bari Vell, perfectly located to explore the whole city , both old and new. It is within moderate walking distance too to the bus/train station should you wish to explore other nearby towns or Barcelona City. The agent, Richard was very professional, and on hand ( at the end of the phone) to help with any needs eg. book a taxi etc.

The process of picking up the keys at another address ( the letting office) out of hours was tricky, especially as the taxi ( provided with our booking) was only allowed, we discovered, to make one stop.Luckily, because of the mix up, Richard kindly drove us on to the apartment. The apartment is within a labyrinth of truly beautiful, historical streets, close to the Cathedral, but without his local knowledge, (as parking outside is not possible but close by) we would have found the apartment difficult to find, especially in the dark. A few essentials e.g. Tea/coffee/milk ( a ‘Welcome Pack’) would have been welcome upon arrival, especially when arriving late. Overall, our stay was superb and we would definitely use the apartment on future visits to beautiful Girona.

The property is at the top of lots of steps, we were not aware of this when booking. We also did not realise we had to collect the keys from the office which was a 20/25 minute walk to the apartment at midnight for us.

The location was within walking distance to Old Town, shops and restaurants. The fresh, airy feel to the apartment with everything you would need for your stay. Very helpful staff with any problems we had. Like working the air con and getting a taxi for our return to the airport.

The walk-up from the cathedral to the apartment was a bit of a challenge for me at the beginning, but it was worth it. So maybe anyone who would have mobility issues would struggle. Wouldn't hesitate to return as the place is beautiful.
