Utopia Apartment

Comfortable and warm with minus 25 degrees outside. Love that there is a washing machine. Clothes just dried easily with the floor heating.

The room is new, big, quiet and very clean. The location is nice, not far from Ice and snow world (冰雪大世界）and Central street (中央大街）. There are some shops or mini supermarkets nearby, it is convenient to buy foods or daily necessities. Staffs are friendly and helpful.

The mattress is hard and firm, I am ok with it but I know some people are looking forward to a softer bed.

Our suite had plenty of space and a great view. There was a washer and a large fridge in the unit, which was very convenient for us. The staff were friendly and the location was great (there is a huge supermarket just 5 min walk from the apartment and main attractions of the city are generally within 15-20 min drive). The shower's water pressure was great and we loved the heated floor. There is also a convenience store on the first floor that opens until 11pm. Useful tips for future guests: This apartment is located within a building complex cluster that has a locked gate. When you first arrive, you need to basically follow another resident or a delivery guy to get in. After you check in, you will receive a key fob to open that gate. As of our stay (Jan 2024), the subway station near the apartment that may appear on some maps has not been completed. But there is a bus station nearby. For taxi and ride share pick up/drop off, use the intersection to the right of the main entrance (the owner will provide that location prior to arrival) since it is a one way street. The fridge is unplugged by default. Suggestions for the owner: It would be great to have a humidifier in the room since Harbin in the winter is super dry. Please check the extra comforter and blanket in the closet as ours appeared to be used already and not cleaned. Please tell the guests how to get into the gate prior to arrival.

The location was great, the views from the apartment were amazing.

The fridge smelled so bad, the shower had hair from previous people, kitchen utensils were dirty.

The apartment was in a semi-gated residential high rise. Once we navigated the two gate options, we were easily able to reach the river on one side, or town on the other. A bus service into downtown & Zhong Yang Lu was available around the corner (toward river). Nice river & city views from the extensive balcony windows. The hostess's sister brought us some crockery, microwave & cutlery to use.

Well, part of living in a residental high rise is the toilet paper thing - you need to place it in the bathroom rubbish bin, not the toilet. Once a day it's advisable to empty the bin in the larger bin near the elevator.

The host was quick to respond when I had any issues. I had a large room on the 17th floor with a nice view.

Although the listing said payment would be by credit card, I was told to pay in cash (there is an Agricultural Bank of China ATM a couple blocks away that worked with my foreign Visa card). Finding the place and checking in were difficult. I hope the following information can help the next guest. The apartment complex is inside a gated community; if you try to follow the map to get in you'll quickly run into a wall or gate. The gate requires a card to open (you get one on a keychain after checking in), but when you first arrive you have to just follow someone in. After getting through the outer gate, there is an apartment building with "乌托邦公寓" (the Chinese name of Utopia) and a phone number in one of the windows, but you can't get inside because the building is locked. So you have to contact the host and ask her to let you in.

I’d like to thank you to the host of this apartment for her hospitality. I felt special and the host was very helpful with everything. Even took my suitcases upstairs and order taxi back to the airport because it was hard for me(everything in Chinese). Apartment so clean and amazing view on 22d floor. Was very easy to get to the Main Street of Harbin, just 10 minutes away. Also huge modern shopping mall around just 5 minutes walk. I was staying for 2 nights and really enjoyed my staying!
