Great location, walkable to many areas!

Lots of stairs (4th floor then an additional staircase upon opening the unit door) with no elevator. The bedroom pictured above is not in the unit/no balcony. The furniture is outdated or damaged. Pricey for how old the place/furniture is.

The hosts were friendly, considerate, and efficient in working with us ahead of time to access the apartment. The air conditioning, dishwasher, and washer worked well and made the stay more comfortable. The beds were comfortable enough. We basically had what we needed for our stay. The location is EXCELLENT being a few steps from the center of the Chiado district. That was perhaps the very best part.

More than anything, the apartment is VERY much in need of an update and a deep cleaning. The walls were dirty (cracked in many places) and the paint was marked up everywhere by the many, many people who've staid there. (The photos must have been taken when the apartment was first updated several years ago.) The furniture was beaten up and stained in many places. The word that kept coming to mind was "shabby." There were 6 flights of stairs, which was not ideal, but that was expected. We'd requested early check-in at 2:00 pm (3:00 pm being the normal check-in time), but the apartment wasn't actually ready until after 4:00. The managers were kind and apologetic about it, for sure.

El cuarto piso, que en realidad era un quinto.Subir y bajar con las maletas era casi imposible,sobre todo para las personas mayores.Lo peor de todo: algunos de los colchones,los muebles se clavaban,imposible dormir!!.Los cubiertos insuficientes: cinco tenedores para ocho huéspedes.El agua caliente de la ducha no funcionaba si se daba el grifo de la cocina.Mosquitos en el apartamento: hemos vuelto llenos de picaduras.

Location

The undisclosed 5 floors and approx 100 stairs to reach the apartment. Also undisclosed was the fact that there was no lift in the building. The photos on booking. Com were not of the apartment that was provided to us. The sheets and towels were well past being what could be considered as presentable. The beds were of poor quality and did not provide adequate sleeping rest considering that we were actively sightseeing everyday. We did not get what was presented on Booking.com. Unfortunately there were no reviews and therefore we relied totally on the honesty of the host. We believe that we were completely extorted by the host. On our investigation, we firmly believe that we overpaid for this accommodation and should be entitled to a partial refund.
