The Sheiling

We would like to thank Caroline and her daughter Vivian for our amazing stay at their gorgeous property. It’s exactly what we hoped for and expected from our stay in the Highlands. A quaint, comfortable, warm and rustic cottage. The property has everything you possibly need for a long or short stay, the heating was functioning and was probably the best, personally for me, because I absolutely cannot stay in cold environments. The same goes for the bathroom! The kitchen was so spacious and again, all the things you need. We absolutely loved our patio with the view on the mountains and the loch. Such a beautiful living room and both bedrooms, everything was curated to make you feel your stay in Scotland. Thank you again for our mesmerizing experience and we definitely hope we will be back!

I had hot baths at the end of each day’s long journey, so it was perfect, but I guess finding a place with strong water pressure is quite impossible in the UK. But this is just an observation. Definitely in no way it has ruined anything for us. Loved everything!

Location was brilliant overlooking the mountain and lake.

The patio was not clean.

I've stayed a couple of times before so all was much as expected. It's very comfortable and a good base. Viviane was really friendly and helpful.

There was a problem with the satellite tv, although the excellent wifi largely compensated for it, as much could be watched through iplayer or stv player.

The house was just so comfy, a real home from home. Nice big comfortable furniture suitable for bigger people like us, huge free view TV, wipeable, the beds were very comfortable. Dishwasher, lots of plates, nice decking and views, I like that dogs are NOT allowed, we never like the idea of people having them on the beds we'll sleep in. Minimal contact with hosts, which suits us fine. We would definitely want to return.

Great location, spacious size and comfortable. Host was kind to let me leave later.

Uncomfortable mattress, outside area requires attention

The house was modernized and comfortable, everything you needed was there. The check in was smooth and easy. The location was wonderful. We enjoyed being able to walk to Eilean Donan castle. We could also see Eilean Donan lit up at night, reflecting on the loch. You could walk across the bridge to the local pub. There was a fabulous cafe across the road which changed to a pizzeria at night. We had a lovely stay at the Sheiling in Dornie. Would definitely recommend!

The location was perfect for exploring lots of munros, walking to nice bakeries and travelling to local ferries. The house was spacious and well equipped.

The main bedroom was light as we couldn't work out how to put the black out blind down. The second bedroom was dark.

Ideally located.

Make it clear on Booking.com that The Sheiling resides beside the main property name. Make the name visible outside the property! Common sense.
