GBBeautiful location with stunning views. Lots of walking in the area for various abilities. Eilean Donan a short walk away. Very comfortable house with everything needed for our stay. Comfortable bed with a great shower. We were lucky enough to sit on the terrace with the weather being kind to us. Stunning views. We hope to be back.
CAThe house is immaculate and very large - has plenty of room for four people. The kitchen is fabulous with amazing appliances, large fridge, Le Creuset kitchenware, and lots of dishes, glasses, and utensils. The huge deck has a variety of brand new outdoor furniture and the view is beautiful! The location is very close to the castle and fantastic hiking.
The address and the location indicated on the map were incorrect so was difficult to find. The outdoor space could have been better maintained.
CAMany other reviews praise The Shelling as more than meets the eye...at least as far as the photos show. They are correct. The accommodation is awesome. It's a gem. The surrounding area is beautiful. The Eileen Donan castle is part of the neighbourhood... nice to walk by, spectacular when lit up at night. Dornie adorns the shore across from this place, but not a lot is open for business. Except the local pub. Great place, very friendly. The food was delicious, and Tuesdays offer live music that was surprisingly good. Even closer to us was an interesting bakery that sold good coffee with its fine baked goods. Lots to like.
Everything was good. Some other reviews complained of the lack of signage. If you look for the address Camuslongart on the other side of the bridge from Dornie and turn down that road, you will see it.
