A beautifully clean, spacious and comfortable cottage. We appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, including the eggs (thank you!), the comfortable beds (not soft), as well as plenty of games and local information. Vickie the host was very responsive and helpful. Brookside Byre is located in a peaceful setting with wonderful views of the surrounding farmland, and with walks directly from the cottage. It was an excellent base for both Durham City and the countryside. I'm sure we'll be back again.

Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped with everything we needed and beautiful views from the front of the property. The owner was friendly and helpful. Easy reach of Durham, Beamish etc

Little choice of local pubs to eat at in the evenings.
