MyPlaceLisbon - Bairro Alto Apartment

Our flight was diverted from Lisbon to Faro due to the sudden airport closure at Lisbon on 18th April 2023, due to the sighting of a drone flying near the airport. I messaged about the incident to my host Antonio. From the scheduled arrival at 11.15, we finally arrived at 16.30, but then Antonio was already waiting for us at the apartment to hand over the keys. Such a professional and jovial person. He took the extra mile of sending his favorite spots and cafes in Lisbon The apartment is fully furnished and has all the essentials. A baby cot was ready for my 9 month old daughter upon arrival

Taxi would not reach the front of the property, although they reached 100m from the apartment. This would be particularly hard if you are travelling with multiple luggage and strollers since the pavement (hardly the width of a person) and the roads are paved with cobbled stones.

Location in the old center, close to the tourist attractions. The living room was the only acceptable room in the apartment.

Dirty apartment (dust and hair all over the house) and smells very bad of mold. In the bedroom is a large stain of mold right above the bed. I saw an insect in the bathroom, the kitchen utensils are old and uncleaned.

The host was super responsive to my whatsapp messages. Even if he was a minutes left, he let me know. The property is very comfortable and has a lot of space. Windows allow ventilation. Nice view from the apartment (including the castle). Elevator was in great shape. Great location.

The bathroom door does not close or lock properly. The kitchen has a lot of missing (and necessary) tools, such as cutting boards, dishwasher soap, bowls, or water bottle. A deep cleaning is needed, since we cleaned a bit of water on the kitchen top and the paper towel came all dirty. The neighborhood is extremely noisy, be prepared for that!

The place was great and the host was very accommodating. He was always there to answer questions and help out with anything we needed! Great location too!

Proximity to main center but the nightlife noise doesn't stop at night. Extremely loud, a great place if you don't want to sleep. Roomy comfortable apartment. Friendly staff, good communication.

Questionable cleaning - 3 different leftover soaps in the shower, greasy pan in the oven, dirty coffee percolator that was unusable. The night noise makes sleep impossible. Kitchen window doesn't close/lock. Bathroom sink doesn't drain well.

Location was close to many options.

Far too loud at night from bars and clubs in the area. A clothes dryer would have been helpful.
