The host responded when the door didn’t lock, the electric went out, the water was cold etc etc.

Both No 1 and No 4 the second room which we had to move to on the first night, are basic, cramped and inadequate. We would like a refund.

The accommodation is located in the heart of Bairro Alto and is close to the Baixa-Chiado metro station (approx. 15 minutes). Mini markets and excellent restaurants are nearby.

The bars on the street are busy until 3 a.m. Shutters provide good noise protection.

Everything was in place, clean and easy to access. The place is perfect for a person, just in the middle of everything.

It can be noisy because of the bars, but if you’re staying in Barro Alto then you go for the parties haha.

Photographic evidence of all these issues has been provided to substantiate my complaint. Upon notifying the host, the only solution offered was to have the apartment cleaned “again” the following day. As a medical professional, I deemed it unsafe to stay in these conditions, as the risks posed to our health and safety were significant and immediate. I informed the host of this and requested a refund. However, my request was refused, with the justification that a cleaning solution had been offered. This response is entirely unacceptable and demonstrates a lack of accountability for the substandard conditions provided. I strongly recommend that Booking.com remove this listing to protect future guests from a similar experience.
