S. Vicente Lisbon Flat

The apartment we stayed in was conveniently located near the metro, bus, and train stations. The rooms were spacious, which was a plus.

However, we had a few negative experiences during our stay. Firstly, when we reached out to the owners 45 minutes before our scheduled check-in time to inquire about an early check-in, we received no response. We would have been okay with a simple "no" as an answer, but not getting any reply seemed rude. It also made us question what would happen if we encountered any issues with the self check-in process. Upon entering the apartment, we immediately noticed a strong, unpleasant odor resembling mold. The apartment itself was quite old and in dire need of renovation. It was disheartening that there was only one window near the entrance door, which resulted in the living and bedroom areas being dark and lacking fresh air. Since there was no air conditioning and the absence of windows made sleeping uncomfortable. The bathroom was not suitable for basic tasks such as drying hair. The overall condition of the apartment's facilities was poor, and we noticed stains on the furniture. One major issue was the lack of communication with the owners. On our first night, after returning from exploring the city, we discovered our kitchen infested with ants. They were crawling out from an old chimney and seemed to have a nest there. We spent the entire night using a vacuum cleaner to get rid of them. We promptly sent a message to the owners, including pictures, but their response was simply to remove sugar and water. However, since we had no food in the kitchen that first night, it was clear that the problem originated from the nest itself. We can't be the first guests to complain about this issue. Additionally, the owners promised to provide ant traps the next morning, but they never followed through. We received no further messages from them, which was highly disappointing. Considering all of the above reasons, we cannot recommend staying at these apartments.

Great location, very big flat and it is nice to have a patio. Flexible check in and easy communication

The flat is spacious, large kitchen, it is nicely decorated and clean, fast Wi-Fi and very quiet as it is a patio flat. the location is great as it is only five minutes from San Apolonia station and great restaurants and cafes are nearby (climb up to Campo Santa Clara or walk along Rua dos Remedios to Rua do Vigario, you will find great food places there). There is also free tea and coffee. The owners communicate well via the Booking messenger function.

The facilities are a bit old and glasses (wine and beer) could be replaced, there is a slight smell of damp and the lights inside the entrance work only erratically, so get a flashlight out if you arrive in the dark. The bedsofa from the description does no longer exist, and we had to pay extra for a second set of bedsheets.

Brilliant location and the host was amazing.
