Clean, good view and in a nice location.

The apartment was very very cold and impossible to heat up since the electricity dies once you plug a heater in. They called in an electrician but he couldn't do anything. The towels couldn't dry since it was so cold. When the electricity dies there is no hot water for the next hour or so each time. Too bad that there were no options for early checkins and late checkouts.

Amazing roof terrace. Cosy place. Will definitely come back :)

Very nice flat, once you get past the shock of the dilapidated, grim and dark stairs leading to it. Very well appointed, very nice balcony if you dont have kids going close to the low rails. The bed is very comfortable. The location is decent, even if a bit out of the way

The stairs leading up to the building are in a horrible state. It's fine , and expected, to have to climb narrow old stairs, and a bit of old building wear and tear can be charming and is part of Lisbon. But in this case the feeling was of neglect and dilapidation. Previous entries described them as dangerously dark. Battery operated motion sensor lights seem to have been added, but are not enough. The contrast between the very nice flat and the horrible entrance and stairwell is stark, and as owner I would take care of that, to create a guest experience that the apartment deserves. I would only book this place again if this was done. I would also shorten the curtains, as it is too easy to step on (and damage, or trip over) them.

Great location, nice terrace, comfortable bed. Close to local bars and cafés. Not too many tourists around.

The smell from the bathroom was unpleasant and noticeable in the whole apartment. There was no light on the staircase. The stairs were narrow and steep, so climbing in total darkness was quite dangerous, specially with the suitcases. There were no light bulbs in the lamps in the bedroom. There were no wine glasses.

excellent location! great kitchen and living area space! excellent kitchen supplies. a great space to study. the terrace allows for an amazing sense of space and fresh air. the nearby church and dog park are approximately 300m away. there is excellent access to local stores and restaurants.

The bathroom has a strange sulphuric smell. it didn’t have a window to keep the smell out so it went into the bedroom!

Upon arrival, the bottle of wine was a very thoughtful touch. Overall appearance of the apartment is wonderful, very clean and nice appliances. The space is bright, modern and cheery with floor to ceiling balcony doors and tasteful decor. Despite being lovely, there were no hangars and no storage for our clothes. There isn’t any shelving or drawers…This was a bit of an issue for us. There are 3 drawers in the living room under the tv unit that could be used. The armoire in the bedroom had only one hangar which was housing the vacuum. We ended up living out of our suitcases for the week, which isn’t the end of the world, but could easily be resolved with some storage space for guests. We spent many nights lounging on the charming terrace. It felt like we were living like locals here in our quaint apartment. The terrace is the reason I booked the apartment, it looks just like in the photos…just wonderful. Communication with the hosts was excellent. They replied to our questions/concerns within a very short time frame. The television is huge! The bed is SUPER comfortable and is larger than a double in my opinion, it seems almost equivalent to a queen size mattress in Canada. The washing machine is 2 in 1 (washer & dryer) and works very efficiently. The Wifi works very well. The location is in the Estrela district. The apartment is within 60 steps of a little convenience store (go left when exiting the building) and there are plenty of convenience stores nearby within a 2-4 minute walk where you can buy basic groceries and alcohol. It’s about an 18 minute walk to LX Factory and a 25 minute walk to Time Out Market (Ribeira Market) in the opposite direction. But there are plenty of lovely little restaurants nearby within a 5 minute walk. The apartment is on a one way residential street. You can hear the church bells clock tower nearby. If you don’t feel like going out for dinner, you can easily order Uber Eats or Glovo right to the door. Quiet neighbourhood.

The apartment is located on the top floor (3rd story), up a narrow staircase which was ok for us, but if you’re older, have mobility issues, this is something to consider. My husband and I are in good shape and it was tiring for us to make it up the stairs with our big suitcases. As long as you're aware of this, it's fine.

The apartment itself is amazing - beautiful balcony in a quiet area with a lot of sun. The kitchen is fully equipped and relatively new. The bathroom and bedroom have a very good standard, too. There are some minor issues (the awning is destroyed and the buidling has a very steep and narrow staircase) but overall we had a very good impression of the apartment itself.

Briefly summarised: The apartment itself is beautiful but be aware that the housing agency will charge you a lot of money as soon as you need assistance or if something does not go as planned! Unfortunately, we had some very bad experiences with the agency managing the apartment. The agency seems to based in the US (judging from the phone number) and follow the rent-seeking strategy of charging their guests "additional fees" whenever possible. In our case, we ended up locking ourselves inside the apartment upon arrival as the lock was difficult to use and self-locking. We had to wait about 1,5 hours until a housekeeper arrived to open the door. From the discussion with the housekeeper, we also understood that there had been issues with the lock before. Nevertheless, the agency was immediately charging us 80 euros (and deducting it from our deposit) - although we had not lost the keys or anything. They were not really willing to listen to any arguments but were only pointing at their house rules which are essentially a catalogue of potential fees and surcharges. Do not expect any kindness from the agency!
