Noviciado Apartment

PROs: -Excellent and prompt communication before and during our stay. We had a little trouble locating the flat but the 2 ladies watched out for our arrival on the street so we didn't wander too far. -Thoughtful gestures like free coffee capsules, sufficient toiletries, chocolates, bottled water. -Immaculada and the younger lady were very helpful and accommodating on site. Check in was fuss free. They oriented us in the apartment. Check out was fuss free - just leave the keys on the table and off you go! -We needed a pocket wifi picked up at a location before our arrival and the host kindly arranged for it. It was waiting for us when we arrived. Much appreciated! -Pictures are honest representation of the apartment. All amenities are provided including laundry detergent, cooking condiments, dishwashing soap. Good wifi. Comfy beds and sofa. Appliances all working well. Linens and towels are of decent quality. Plenty of closet space. We used the airconditioner on heat mode to warm up the apartment. It worked fine. - Location is perfect. Close to Gran Via. 10-15 mins walking distance to Plaza Mayor and other places of interest. Convenience stores and Taxi stand very close. For convenience, tell taxi/Uber driver to look for Hostal Ria Brajas in the map. That is the easiest drop off/pick up location from the apartment. It is literally just across the street. -

These are NOT CONs but just things to take note of: - The flat is on the 1st floor (which is 1 floor above street level for those who live outside Europe) and there is no lift. We are a family of 4 with 2 big wheeled luggages. I already knew there will be stairs because I checked before I booked the place so it wasn't a surprise. Just be aware that you will need upper body strength to go up if you have big luggages. :-) - We initially had some trouble with getting the right temperature of hot and cold water in the shower. On the first night, it was very cold and then very hot for 1 minute before turning cold again. I didn't ask for help from the host because we managed to sort it out on the succeeding days. We switched to the hand held shower head instead of the rainfall shower and that made the water temperature moderate. - The kitchen and dining areas are tight so if you plan to cook a lot, you may need to push out the table to make space for moving around. For cooking breakfast, it was fine.

It was a great location, easily accessible to all the tourist spots. Clean modern apartment.

It was noisy at night

Apartment is fully equipped. There is a supermarket nearby,metro station is a short walk away. Walking distance to GranVia.

The stairs. Lugging 4luggages up n down was tedious. Overall it was ok.

The hostess was friendly and helpful

Central location.

Could have done with some mugs for people who prefer to drink tea as there were only small coffee cups.
