"Unpleasant"

4.0

This is really more of a hostel and not appropriate for older people or families with children. Living room is chock-a-block full of beds and not comfortable for relaxing. Management is disorganized and does not answer questions. Most concerning was the mouse trap in the corner. Can’t think of anything positive to say I’m afraid.

"Underwhelmed"

4.0

First impression was negative when met by cleaner asking for payment. No help to organise taxi for next day. Apartment odd to say the least. Huge chunk of sitting area housing a shower and toilet with 20cm gap underneath. Bunk bed in walk through corridor to main bedroom. Bunk bed not safe for kids as top bunk way too high and no guard. Main bedroom ok although shelving housing unnecessary clutter and irrelevant book which fell off in the middle of the night when guests returned to room above. En-suite bathroom needs a deep clean as stains of previous clients on wall and rug next to toilet bowl looked dirty, old and unnecessary. Apartment more suited to hostel type travellers. Not couples looking to share an apartment with suitable facilities to relax in.

"Great value"

8.0

We stayed in the duplex apartments for three nights with another couple , one bedroom downstairs one off the lounge kitchen area , both with enquires but rather open planned , very clean and cleaner comes in every day and makes the beds etc, Great area for us , off the beaten track , but everything within walking distance e.g. rossio square the elevator and the praco do commercio, plenty of shops and restaurants in the area, is not a main tourist area but great for us s we like the real portugal , everyone is so friendly and the restaurants are so much better value than the tourist traps , we never paid over 50 euros or all four of us including drinks , a very small cafe bar a few doors down which was very cheap and fantastic staff , the only downside I can think off is that you get quite a lot of noise from other flats and the heavy front door

"OMG! Their ‘Sun House’ - What a Misnomer!!! 😂😂😂😂"

4.0

Stayed there for about a week at the end of last November. No sun evident anywhere in the ‘Sun House’, even on a sunny day! 😂😂😂 Positives - WiFi signal was strong and consistent. - Bed was quite comfortable. (These features are what give this place a rating of ‘poor’ rather than ‘terrible’.) Neutral - Location: not great; not terrible. Really depends on your level of physical fitness. It’s at the top of a very steep hill, so only people in good physical shape should consider it. (See photo.) Having said that, I should add that most of Lisbon consists of hills. It’s really a matter of steep, steeper, or steepest. There are far cheaper, more comfortable places closer to both Figueira and Rossio Squares, with much flatter gradients. - If you’re driving, better check out parking facilities first. Streets are extremely narrow. It’s basically one car, one way at one time. No obvious parking spaces anywhere. (Gave up driving years ago, so for me, personally, the parking situation is irrelevant. For those who do drive, it could be very relevant.) Negatives - Damp, cold, and wet beyond belief!!! - Rain pouring though the bathroom fan, down the wall, and pooling on the floor. Used towels to sop up the rain so I wouldn’t slip and break my neck. (See photos.) - Moisture condensation on the inside surfaces of the windows - hate to think of the mound growth - euch! - No heat. - Impossible to dry jackets or shoes sopped with rain. - Lukewarm water in both kitchen and bathroom sinks, but strictly cold showers! - Owner/manager refuses to deal directly with guests. Makes contact with guests either through cleaning staff or through booking agencies. (That was my experience with the owner/manager, but perhaps other guests have had more favourable experiences in this respect.) Unless you want to alternate your wardrobe between a wet suit and a dry suit, I’d give this place a miss!
