USUnbeknownst to us, we arrived on a holiday when the police had closed many streets to allow for a religious procession. Lucky for us, our host realized we could be having problems and called us to explain how to reach the apartment in spite of the traffic blockages. She and her husband then met us on arrival to make sure everything was fine.
NZThe hostess, Elisa, was a delight, she stood in a parking space for 15 minutes until our arrival to ensure we were parked close to the apartment. Elisa provided us with invaluable recommendations on where to go and what to do in the beautiful area. The apartment was formerly an art gallery and was absolutely exquisite - sympathetically restored and decorated in keeping with the era. The bed, bedlinen and towels were most luxurious and the toiletries were of premium quality. We loved the chandeliers and ornate ceiling features. The apartment was exceptionally private. We were grateful for the air conditioning, well equipped kitchenette with coffee machine and little fridge. We loved that Elisa had put water in the fridge and left out Sicilian biscuits for us. The location was superb, quiet but central to restaurants, cafes, supermarket, shops, cathedral etc.
There was nothing to dislike.
AUThe location was very central to the town of Ragusa. The Hostess Elisa was very accommodating, meeting us on site and showing us where we could park our cars and which restaurants are great to go to (excellent advice by the way). The rooms are stunning!! The vaulted ceilings are a work of art. The bathrooms were modern, clean and the facilities are new in the kitchen. It was the only accommodation thus far that I would definitely return to and stay longer next time.
Please do note that the unit is up 4 flights of stairs and there is no lift. The building was built in the early 1800's and the Otis lift company didn't start until 1853. Nevertheless, would this stop me from coming again? Absolutely not. I'll just make sure that I'll travel lighter - or even leave the bulk baggage at a luggage storage facility (which there are plenty of) and just bring a carry on.
CHThe location was perfect, and the room's design made the stay worthwhile.
USThis is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed in. Elisa should be an interior designer. Every detail is gorgeous. It is a palace. The neighborhood is nice and safe.
I liked everything, though it is a little bit far from Ragusa Ibla.
DEwe enjoyed very much staying at this place and we thank Elisa so much for her wonderful hospitality. the apartment in the palazzo is very convenient and right in the middle of the city. the ceiling in the bedroom is spectacular and if you are lucky you will find a free parking space in front / close to the palazzo. Elisa is a wonderful host taking care of anything one needs. excellent recommendation for ragusa !
AUThe host sent lots of valuable information and tips. The property is as lovely as it looks in the photos. A great kitchen if you plan on cooking but plenty of local food choices.
