The Central Square Residence

While the Airbnb on Groenplaats boasts a fantastic location in Antwerp's city center, the overall experience fell short. Despite its prime location, this accommodation left much to be desired in terms of comfort and convenience.

I had a disappointing experience at this apartment in Antwerp. The reality of the accommodation fell far short of the expectations set by the listing. Firstly, upon arrival, both bathrooms emitted a strong and unpleasant odor, indicating a lack of cleanliness. It was evident that they had not been properly cleaned before our arrival, which was disappointing and frankly unacceptable. The photos provided in the listing did not accurately represent the condition of the apartment. Far from the pristine, white-walled rooms depicted in the images, the walls were often damaged and marked with grime. It was clear that little effort had been made to maintain the appearance of the property. Additionally, the mattresses on the beds were noticeably worn out, making for an uncomfortable sleeping experience. The overall maintenance of the apartment was lacking, with holes in the walls and lights hanging askew or loosely. Furthermore, the lock of the front door of the apartment was broken, compromising the security of the property. This is a serious issue that should have been addressed before our arrival. The communal areas of the building were also disappointingly dirty, with food remnants littering the staircase throughout our stay. This lack of cleanliness reflects poorly on the management of the property. Moreover, the windows had significant cracks, which not only compromised insulation but also raised safety concerns. Lastly, the noise levels at night were intolerable due to the apartment's location above a snooker café in a noisy neighborhood. This made it difficult to get a good night's sleep and detracted from the overall experience. In conclusion, I cannot recommend this accommodation to future travelers. The lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, security issues, and excessive noise levels overshadowed any positives the property may have had. The host needs to address these issues promptly to ensure a satisfactory experience for guests.

Very central, easy access from the tram, spacious with a shared courtyard terrace

Limited towels, some windows and bit broken when you try to open them, couldn’t open front door from the apartment, mandatory to go down every time one of the guest comes home because, yes, just one key for a 6 bed apartment. Maybe a working keypad would be a great addition.

This is a massive apartment, with a massive bath. There is a good elevator. The location is fantastic. For the price very good value

Isnt totally accessible due to a step at the entrance and step in the corridor of the apartment. The bathroom smelled of drains and the apartment smelt feisty. The beds were not very comfortable for me.

Great location in the centre, decent price for that central

Has clearly never been looked after in any way. Dirty bathroom and kitchen full of stains and dust, different to the photos you see on here. I felt dirty just staying here. The beds have all dipped in the middle so clearly worn and old. The worst of all though was the smashed window right by the bed.... Nice cold draught at night. Even worse was the sewage smell coming from all toilets.

Place is huge, center of the city, perfect for large groups of young people.

Well, it was like camping, actually glamping because we were not in tents... ACs didn't work in the middle of the winter and only heaters were three small fans. There are 5 beds, one has broken frame, another is in the spot that is colder than freezer. Two rooms are separated and one couldn't be heated up and another has a bed that is collapsed in the middle. So kind of glamping but not so great.
