São Bartolomeu Apartment 4

The location was excellent, right in the middle of the downtown area and close to all the atractions and shops. The apartment itself was very clean and well maintained apart from a damaged wall.

There were several issues during my stay, hence my low grade. There is no nerby parking, since this is in the middle of the historical center. If you come by car beware of that. There was an incessant and very loud dripping from the toilet deposit that kept me awake during the entirety of my stay. The hot water was not enough for 2 people and we had to regulate the temp each 10 seconds on the bath. For a 100lts electric water heater that is new to me. The communication with the owner was very bad. I reported this and the first thing was discard my report as if I was imagining things. then was told that someone was going to take a look at the dripping in a few days that never came. Towards the last days they sent me messages in English asking for data to emigration when the entire communication was done in Portuguese and I am a Portuguese citizen. Lastly, there were quite some outlets around the house, but some had "not working" on them and others would short circuit the entire apartment if used. Luckily I had no equipment damage, but I could have and that is very dangerous as well as a possible fire hazard.

The apartment was well set up, clean with a good amount of space. Location was great and Mariana was a responsive and helpful host.

There were a few wall power outlets that didn’t work, probably including the one for the fridge as it wasn’t working (had a smell?). We mentioned the fridge issue to the host but didn’t pursue a solution as we didn’t need the fridge and were able to find alternate outlets that worked.

Apartment 4 is spot on. It is on the top of a building in a quiet street. Extremely clean with a good WIFI connection. Perfect if you are staying for a business and want to be in the city centre in 1 minute.

Honestly, everything was fine.

The location, its right in the center! It is so modern and clean. the bed is very nice. It has a great kitchen. The apartment was so nice.. much bigger then we thought. Such a cool loft! And if you arrive by train to Coimbra-A, its just a 3 minute walk to the appartment. (So also very convenient of you want to do a daytour to porto or lisbon)

I can imagine the property could be quite cold in wintertime.. so maybe an extra wool blanket or bigger heater? We werent really cold in march. But staying in december/january a blanket and extra heating would make a difference 😁 There are some stairs, for us no problem.. but keep that in mind

Mattress soft, not great if you have back problems. Cold in winter with only 1 small heater.
