Terrace Apartment

Great terrace and location.

There was a cigarette smoke smell, as non smokers it was not pleasant.

Location was excellent with easy reach to everything. Good communication with host with clear instructions of how to get in. Nice big terrace. Comfy beds. Everything functioned.

We were rather disappointed to find the beds were actually in the living/dining room rather than in a separate bedroom as we expected. Also we were very unlucky as there was non-stop noisy building work opposite the apartment. The shower tray did not drain very well.

The location is fantastic. Nice little apartment and very well-equipped kitchen.

COCKROACHES!! We had them 3 nights in a row. We told the host of the property and she sent somebody in the next day to sort it, but, honestly, by that point my friend and I were both on edge about the cockroaches possibly coming back and couldn't fully enjoy our stay. Cockroaches are everywhere in the city, which we understand, however, to have 3 huge cockroaches one after another for 3 nights in a row, it didn't seem right. The host explained that the building next to it is abandoned "and no cares about it", which implies this is where all these cockroaches are coming from. No discount was offered by the host for this, which was extremely disappointing.

Very nice apartment,centrally located, near a big shopping center, spacious, clean, nice decorated,well equipped with a generous terrace. Easy self check in.

Excellent location in Funchal. Minutes away from shops, sites and transport links. Very clean and had everything we needed (towels, beach towels etc). Fans in both rooms. Very responsive host.

We liked the roof terrace and the location of the apartment. It is very close to a shopping centre with a large supermarket. It is in an area with many nearby restaurants and is in easy walking of all the main sites in Funchal. The apartment has plenty of space for 2 people. Communication with the owner was good.

You have to be fit enough to walk up 3 flights of stairs, as there is no lift. This wasn’t a problem for us but could be for some people.

The walls are very thin, sometimes it was very noisy, but rather because of the unpolite tourists in the neighborhood.

Great location & terrace! We had breakfast on the terrace every morning and sat outside every night. The apartment has 2 rooms. One smaller bedroom and a bigger room serving as the bedroom for the other 2 beds and the living room. We were there in early September. The seat cushions were new as some of the older comments have mentioned this as a minus :) the apartment was very clean and they even provided one tab of washing gel for the washing machine. The kitchen is small but functional and they provided salt/pepper/oil/washing liquid. We rented a car and parked in a garage close by for 4.5€/day (5 minute walk). There is also a parking garage right next door. This one however is closed at night and on Saturdays after 4pm and on Sundays and there is no way to get inside or out. There are a few stairs to climb to get to the apartment. For us this was no issue at all (would be the same for any other apartment located on a higher floor).

Nothing major, the pillows were not for me but this is a very minor issue. Since the apartment is on the top level I can imagine that it can get very hot/humid in the summer months but they had some movable fans which could be used.
