Private Pool Apt. with Great View

Beautiful gardens and pool surroundings. Owners were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout.

What made our visit at Quinta Esperenza extraordinary nice and special? The beautifull flat in the beautifull house with the beautifull garden with the beautifull pools in the the beautifull town of Funchal? Yes - all this beauty you will find there - but above all this you will find two persons - Helena and Roberto - who will welcome you with arms wide open with friendly kindness, so you can easily feel at home. So finally we just simply want to say - Thank you!

Spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated apartment in a lovely old Quinta which is being very tastefully restored by the owners. It benefits from a fantastic terrace with a dining table and outside sofas, which gets the sun from mid-morning onwards. You also have your own small private pool, garden and loungers under the shade of some banana trees! In addition you have full use of the beautiful gardens, the main swimming pool and the upper veranda which gives fantastic views across Funchal harbour. Helena and Roberto were friendly and helpful hosts. There is an excellent bakery nearby and bus stops directly outside the property take you down into the town (or it is about a twenty minute walk), or up to the botanical gardens. Street parking is available very close by. We had a great stay and would fully recommend this property!

We loved everything about the apartment and the Quinta, but for those with reduced mobility you should just be aware that it is on a steep hill leading down into Funchal. It is about a fifteen minute walk to a great area near the old fort where there are lots of bars and restaurants, and another five or ten minutes into the main centre. If you do not fancy the walk (coming back is steep but great exercise!), then there are bus stops right outside the Quinta and the bus network is cheap, frequent and efficient, and any inconvenience from the hill is more than compensated by the location and fabulous views!

Beautiful traditional apartment in well maintained pretty gardens, the bonus having a pool to cool off in after a hard hike. Great location, easy access to town, even the walk back up hill is not as bad as expected but if you’re not up to it there’s always plenty of taxis. Helena was very helpful and welcoming.

The location and facilities were great, we had an amazing stay! A very warm welcome and easy contact with the host, this made our stay very comfortable.

The Quita is a very nice historical building with a very beautiful garden with ocean view. From the balcony at the first floor you will get an even better view. The apartment was very clean. Communication with the owner was good, fast response and very helpful.
