Appartement assez grand, près des services, ascenseur ( 5 ième étage ) Bien équipé, fonctionnel. Deux balcons , belle vue . Près du port ,téléférique et zones touristiques .

Le bruit dû à l’emplacement près de l’épicerie , par contre proximité pour les emplettes , mais silencieux si on ferme les portes pour dormir. Pas d’air climatisé mais ok pour un séjour en octobre.

Mazā guļamistaba nedaudz par mazu lielajai gultai, varētu būt vismaz vienā gultas pusē lielāks skapītis vai cita virsma kur uzlikt grāmatu vai tableti. Vannas istabā kāds pakaramais vēlams, lai drēbes nebūtu jāliek uz tualetes vāka vai izlietnes, dušā neliels plauktiņš kur uzlikt ziepes vai šampūnu. Sīkumi bet svarīgi.

La situation géographique parfaite. L’appartement était spacieux

Il n’y a pas de climatisation, seulement des ventilateurs.

Location excellent with great conveniences nearby including groceries and boutiques, tourist attractions and promenade. Old town close by along with the fish market and main shopping areas. View of the mountains was lovely. Cable car minutes away and taxis available metres away too. Excellent find to be honest.

Smell of garbage in the lobby worsened as well as a smell from the shower plug hole in the apartment. Lack of hooks for hanging items in the bathroom. The kitchen sink is in an awkward spot behind the kitchen door.

The property was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with essentials. Located on the 5th floor with a lift, it was conveniently close to the old town, cable car, buses, market, cathedral, and waterfront. Margarida greeted us warmly, shared helpful tips on activities and dining, and stayed in touch via WhatsApp until our arrival. However, we didn’t receive a response when we messaged her after leaving. The apartment included basics like dishwasher tabs, laundry pods, tea towels, washing-up liquid, bin bags, cooking oil, and condiments. A large Continente supermarket is right across the street, and Pingo Doce, under the Anadia shopping center, is less than a 5-minute walk away. Restaurants and cafés are also just steps from the building. The location was ideal, with most of Funchal’s highlights within easy walking distance.

The central location does come with some street noise, particularly from the Continente loading dock across the road, which starts before 7 a.m. The windows aren’t soundproof, and keeping them closed to reduce noise can make the rooms feel hot due to Madeira’s high humidity. The apartment has no air conditioning. The beds are firm, which might not suit everyone. The fitted sheets and mattress protectors were smaller than the mattresses, causing them to shift during the night. The pillows could also be improved for better comfort. The shower is small and enclosed, with no shelf for soap or shampoo. Additionally, the bathroom lacks hooks for towels or a way to dry them.

Proximity. The apartment was in the centre of Funchal, close to shops, the harbour and a great supermarket right opposite.

The only thing we didn’t like about the property was a small dog barking regularly out on its balcony , on the floor above us. We presumed the owner left him/ her and it was lonely.

Location was great host was amazing and responded very quickly to any request. rooms were spacious and comfortable

Windows were not really soundproof. There’s not always noise out, but if there was noise, we can hear it however, at night it is quiet

The property was large, clean and equipped with all the basics. On the 5th floor with a lift. We were met by Sabrina. She was very helpful and once our plane had landed in Whatsapp contact until we arrived. Apartment very centrally located for access to the old town, cable car, buses, market, cathedral, waterfront etc. Beds were very comfortable. Some basics provided - 2 of dishwasher tabs and laundry pods, tea towels, washing up liquid, bin bags, cooking oil and condiments. Earlier reviews mentioned a problem with the shower enclosure but it was clear this has been replaced very recently. There is a large Continente supermarket opposite and a huge Pingo Doce supermarket under the Anadia shopping centre less than 5 mins away. For airport transfers the Aerobus stop number 4 (Mercado) is 3 mins walk away. You an also pick up some of the local buses and the yellow and red open top buses from here. Lots of restaurants and cafes close by. Turn right as you exit the apartment block. It's really is convenient for everything and we had a great stay!

It is not the fault of the apartment but the very central location means there is some noise - no worse than you would expect and not late at night. Noise would not be a problem if the apartment had aircon but due to high humidity levels in Maderia it feels 3 or 4 degrees hotter than the actual temperature necessitating leaving the windows open including at night and the provided fans running (more noise). Life gets going fairly early in the morning outside. Be aware if you are sensitive to these things. The new shower enclosure is a corner sliding door type because of this the gap is not huge. Perfectly fine for most but if you are larger or have mobility issues you might find getting in and out a problem. The oven has one shelf which is the roasting pan type. No rack type shelf or grill pan and no dishes suitable for going inside an oven provided. Not a big problem for a short stay.
