Altan Apartments

Nice people, they waited for me, the parking space in the yard was good. The bed was big and comfortable, the kitchen was equipped. There was also salt and sugar, which I needed. It was a very cheap offer for those days.

I caught two bugs and it was a little cold. I once had to restart the Wifi router when the internet stopped working. The TV remote control battery and the wall clock battery were dead, but I didn't need those two things.

Через негоду (сильний вітер) були проблеми з напругою в електромережі. Вуличний ліхтар всю ніч вмикався і вимикався, що заважало спати. На кухні не було рушника.

Appartamento con mobilio un po' datato ma nel complesso per qualche giorno può andare bene. Il proprietario è stato molto gentile e la prima notte ci ha aspettato fino alle 23.30 senza chiederci alcun supplemento perciò lo ringrazio. La posizione è vicina al centro, a piedi una decina di minuti. Abbiamo trovato pulito, il rapporto qualità prezzo è buono. La linea internet l'abbiamo usata poco ma è sufficientemente veloce. Il letto ed i cuscini erano comodi.

Una nota che mi sento di fare è la mancanza di tapparelle o scuri, le tende presenti non sono oscuranti perciò alla mattina al primo sorgere del sole la luce entra e per chi è abituato a dormire con il buio potrebbe essere fastidioso.

Great place! Highly recommended. Good location, 2 min walk to the beach, nice village. Accommodation is very convenient, comfortable bed, nice big terrace, quite at night, very relaxing, nice parking lot. The host met us with fresh grapes, a bottle of cold water in the fridge - very nice. We stopped for one night on the way from Montenegro to Hungary, its a pity we could not stay more. Not far from the main road. Loved it!

I wish there was some coffee for the coffee machine)

I enjoyed my stay at Alton Apartments. It was very accommodating and the hosts, Tatyana and Albert, were wonderfully kind, friendly, and went out of their way to help me. They even adjusted my booking when I needed it, and picked me up from the local station before my check-in when my train was delayed, which was a huge plus. Their local restaurant is lovely, very scenic, and it’s just a short (10-15) walk from apartments. I visited 3 times - the food and wine was wonderful, and at a very fair cost. The bus station is also really close, making it easy to explore the nearby village of Keszthely, which is local to the lake. You can also explore the local town Heviz which is fairly quiet. Overall, a pleasant experience.

In essence, the area had a slightly older demographic, and as a younger person from a different culture, I didn’t quite mesh and felt a bit isolated. It’s probably just more suited to a certain crowd, which isn’t a reflection on the property or hosts at all. Without a car, it’s also quite difficult to commit to exploring far parts of the lake, as public transport is limited and some areas don’t have late return buses.
