Great location and balcony views

Perfect location with easy reach of everything Funchal has to offer. Lovely big balcony which gets the sun all day. Well equipped. Air conditioning. Quiet. Excellent communication. Car parking space. Supermarket nearby.

Location is excellent, just a block away from the sea promenade and at the beginning of the city boulevard. Nice parks just vis a vis to the apartment. Spar market downstairs and Pingo Doce supermarket two blocs away. AC is available only in bedroom, but it helps cooling the whole flat if it is left running. Bathroom drainage still needs some improvement, it still leaks to the floor in stead of the drain. There is a car rental in the same building and free parking with the apartment is really handy combination. To rent a car really helps to see the whole island in just a couple of days. It took some waiting to get the keys to the apartment, even we called from the airport as requested. A better defined meeting point would be helpful.

Delivery of keys took a while longer as expected. Check out is already at 10:00 luggage storage is not available at the building. We found one at CR7 hotel building, the Turtle bug-car rental offers luggage storage right at street level.

Perfect location and perfect host. We had a small problem on our stay and Miguel was on hand immediately to sort it out. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable, quiet bedroom and lovely lounge.

The bathroom is a little dated

The location was excellent - close to beach, old town shops and restaurants etc. The view was amazing (except for the crane!) Having a parking space was really handy. Secure building Kitchen well stocked with utensils etc It was clean and the linen smelt really fresh. Blackout curtain in the bedroom.

It was sooooo noisy from the street below with cars, motorbikes and loud people into the early hours of the morning. The reviews don't seem to capture this which is why I booked it, we struggled to sleep with the constant noise (perhaps it is the time of year with Christmas festivities?) The shower tray is still leaking (previous reviews some time ago pointed this out) the tray tilts backwards and the water ends up all over the floor (this is quite dangerous) the light above the mirror wasn't working which was annoying. The light above the oven wasn't working. The sofa was dirty and stained (another thing that has been pointed out countless times in previous reviews) it also smelt. Some of the cushions were also really beaten up and need replacing. Although they kindly let us in before check-in time, we had to wait 1.5 hours to get in the building - they need a lock box! The bed was small considering it's described as 'extra large' and it was hard and uncomfortable. Bits of ducting around the door were hanging off - this needs fixing. Generally good but requires some general maintenance. The photos make it look much better than it is in reality!

The apartment was very spacious and clean and it also has a big balcony with a beautiful view. The bed was very comfortable and the bed sheets and linen smelled really good and freshly washed. The service was good. I always got a fast answer to my questions and they were really nice.

In general the kitchen is well equipped with everything, the only thing I didn't like was that there was no oil to cook and no sponge for the dish cleaning. We bought a bottle of oil, coffee and a sponge. Obviously we didn't use all the oil and coffee in one week and we left the rest there. It's ok but I think basic things like coffee and oil could be provided for visiters that stay only a week or a few days. The sofa has some stains aswell. Maybe it could be cleaned.
