"Dirty and overdue maintenance"

2.0

We have been traveling through Japan with our family for a month and have spent the night in many different places. Overall with full satisfaction. Unfortunately we were not happy with this accommodation, Nikko Sweden Village. We left within an hour of arriving. There is a lot of mold on the windows in both bedrooms, making the smell very musty and unpleasant. In one of the bedrooms it was not possible to open a window. Furthermore, the cooking equipment in the kitchen is dirty and greasy. And a lot of kitchen utensils are missing. Flat plates, spoons, knives, forks, bowls, etc. A chair is broken. The garden set was dirty and broken, so sitting outside was not possible. It felt inhospitable, unsafe and unhealthy for us to spend the night here with our children. There was no one at reception to help us, so we looked last minute for an alternative place to sleep. I get the impression that each house belongs to a different owner, so perhaps other houses look better and cozier. We certainly weren't that lucky.

"Very poor"

Nothing, really.

it was far, and the house was moldy, no sofa, and the seats was for camping, not for a house. I don't recommend this for anyone.

"Great little CUTE clean cabins!"

9.0

The cottages are very clean and cute but basic, inside is well appointed with very comfortable beds, easy check-in, peaceful setting right next to some centuries-old cedar trees, hosts were very responsive. Great heat/AC units, ample hot water. Close to major sites of Nikko.

We liked everything, but as Americans we would appreciate some forks/spoons. We ended up just buying some at the 100yen store, so it wasn't a big deal. Train tracks are right next to the property, but the trains are very small passenger trains so when they go by it's only about 30 seconds of slight disturbance(no horns). It didn't wake us up and was not very noticeable.

"Nikko sweden village family stay"

7.0

Some of the apartment structures are good. The wifi facility and kitchen facility were very helpful.

No staff to guide the visitors, no proper lighting around the apartment. Cleanliness could be improved. Toilets don't have any auto washlet, thermal heating was not there/functioning.
