Dream House Duomo Catania

The most impressive feature of this apartment is the roof top terrace and the views over the Duomo square and to Etna (and if you look closely to the sea). The flat is set over the two top floors of an old building, with a dining/living room on the top floor, alongside an alcove with what i believe to be a double sofa bed. The lower floor has a double bedroom, a kitchen and dining area and a bathroom. Lots of storage and clothes hanging space. It is comfortable but not luxurious and would probably benefit from a bit of tlc but nonetheless makes a wonderful place to stay in this vibrant city. Although the city is noisy during the day we found that by about 11pm it was really quite quiet (and we were there during a Sicilian holiday week). Lots of restaurants close by - the fish market is lively but maybe a bit touristy; the enoteca below is great and we found a number of other great places to eat. Giovanni arranged transfers from the airport for us. Good WIFI though we found it helped to move the router to the upper floor if wanting access there,

The apartment, being on the top floors, is access by a stairwell (no lift) and this is really quite shabby and dirty. We had travelled hand luggage only but carrying large hold bags up these stairs would not be easy. We would have appreciated a little more local knowledge guidance of places to visit though there was a selection of flyers in the apartment. We didn't find the second toilet mentioned in the description (there was a locked door i guess it was behind) but it didn't matter to us.
