Salomao, the host was super nice. He picked us up in the center of Funchal and took us to the apartment. He provided a lot of information on trips and restaurants, he was easy to reach when we had questions, and he provided local fruits and drinks as a welcome plate. The apartment is at a good location, close to a supermarket and a bakery. We rented a car and we could use the parking lot of the apartment-building (for free) which was very comfortable. The apartment is close to the main roads if one wants to leave Funchal for an excursion. The living room has a great view of the city and the ocean, and so does the small balcony. The apartment, the kitchen is well equipped, the rooms, bathroom are comfortable. Salomao provides many towels, even beachtowels, and he also provided walking poles for our levada trips. We had a really great time here, our sons (18, 13 yo) also loved it, it was a cosy base for our first visit to this beautiful island.

Very clean place, the host was very nice, helpful and very competent with information about things to do and places to visit. The location of the apartment was close enough to local attractions and having a parking place was very helpful.

Super nice host who provided excelent (taxi)service and tourist information. There are also many brochures and books about Madeira available. The apartment and kitchen were very clean, and all the bedding, bathtowels, plaid, carpets and pillowcovers were freshly washed. The neighbours are very quiet, didn't hear them during my 12 nights stay. A small supermarket, bakery and the busstop to Monte/Funchal Centre are nearby.

In the neighbourhood are many barking dogs, you need earplugs at night. Like most beds in Portugal the mattresses are very hard. In the near future the host will provide mattress toppers. The elevator was broken, so you had to walk to the 4th floor. Replacement parts are on their way.

The host and hostess could not have been more accommodating. They provided maps marked up with places of interest, restaurants, food and beverage suggestions. They provided champagne for New Years, wine, Madeira wine, liquor, water, fruit, bread, home made jam, etc. Beautiful views of the ocean and city from the living room and balcony

My stay at Salomãos place was exceptional. He is probably the best apartment host I've ever experienced in all of my years of traveling, incredible hospitality. Picked me up from the port, provided fresh fruit, specialties of Madeira, water, wine and a detailed run-through of the map of things to see. You can tell how much he loves his island and wants tourists to have the best time. The view from the apartment is amazing and sitting on the little balcony in the morning eating breakfast makes for the perfect start to every day. 20 mins walk to the center, quiet neighbors, bakery and small supermarket around the corner. I would and will stay here again! WiFi is great for working remotely.

It felt like home. All the necessary appliance as you are at home. The owners left us vinho Madeira, ginginha, bolo do caco, fruits and few other delicious local products on our arrival. We were working 3 (2 on calls) remotely and the internet connection was super stable. 15min by car from airport and 5min from downtown. Mini Market near by and cheap restaurants for quick daily meals near by. I'll comeback for another stay as 1 week was not enough to cover all the tips given by the owners
