The Emerald Suite by Margate Suites

The location was great and the decor was beautiful.

The accommodation offered extras and I asked for balloons to be put in the flat for my friends' hen. This wasnt done and more than a month on I've not been refunded. Worse, on the second night we woke up in the early hours and saw bedbugs. Guests in both rooms were covered in bites that came up over the next few days and were incredibly uncomfortable. I had 17 bites on one arm alone! We alerted the property immediately and had to throw out our suitcases and some clothing. The venue agreed to refund us but it took a month for booking.com to deliver it.

Planned stay - 25/08/2024. Booking recommend cancelled a couple of hours (midday) before we were due to check in. We had already travelled to Margate by that time. Absolutely disgusting. A family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) trying to find decent alternative accommodation on a bank holiday last minute. We had tickets to see James Arthur in concert for a birthday gift for my daughter, so had booked the accommodation way back in April. Hosts didn’t bother message until 9pm that night to give a lame excuse. Would not recommend at all.

The booking was cancelled by owner the day before we were due to arrive. Booking.com offered an alternative but the suite was booked specifically due to style and location so the alternative was not suitable. Said to be cancelled due to maintenance but disappointed that the owner did not respond when I tried to call as cancellation was out of the blue

Good kitchen provision. Liked all the teas and cereals. Nice interior design. Good location opposite the beach.

The blinds in the single bed room are not dark enough and we got woken at 5am. The mattresses and bedding are old and need replacing.

Location was good. Contact from owner was good.

Blood on the sheets in one bedroom. Stairs not for the faint hearted. Water wouldn’t drain from the shower.

Location was very central and right across from the beach. Facilities in the apartment were great, especially the complimentary tea/coffee/biscuit tray. The decor was eclectic and fun and made us all happy walking round discovering all the little touches.

The steps up to the apartment were very steep

Striking decor. Comfortable beds. Lovely towels. Really good location - though stairs were steep.
