Peaceful 4-room house in Maribor - Bike friendly

The apartment itself was nice enough. Decent enough space with two bedrooms and a large lounge kitchen diner. There was a garage to store bikes. Communication before arrival was good. Price was decent value.

We had booked because it was a 'Bike Friendly' accommodation and we were on a mountain bike holiday around Slovenia. It had a garage for bike storage but the host's father who was the main point of contact as the host was away, was not happy when we asked to use the garage. Apparently some English guests in the apartment next door that they also rent out, were using it for their bikes and would be upset if they had to also share the space with our bikes. Eventually, he reluctantly allowed us use. The next day while we were out we moved our bike boxes out of the garage as a courtesy to allow the other guests easy access to their bikes, but apparently they complained that the sight of our boxes spoiled their outdoor breakfast. Do someone a favour and they will find a way to complain, such is the English way. What is annoying is the host's father preferencing the other guest's wishes over anyone else - we had as much right to access the promised space as they did with their crappy bikes that could have sat outside without anyone taking any interest in them. The supplied towels were small and musty and smelled like they'd been sat in a cupboard for a long time. There is a washing machine but no supply of washing powder. Of course we could buy some but accommodation that was making an effort would supply a small amount for guests, especially those travelling from overseas like us who don't need a whole bottle of laundry detergent! The kitchen had no dish towel for drying dishes, only one for hands. There is no microwave. The window blinds are an odd design and some are broken. They don't fully cover all the window glass so privacy, especially in the bedroom is not guaranteed. There's an extractor fan in the small toilet but no fan in the bathroom. We had to park out on the narrow street, there was no offer to allow us to use the space on the driveway.

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen. Das Haus ist in einer ruhigen Wohngegend. Die Wohnung ist geräumig und sauber. Busstation ist ca. 3-5 Gehminuten vom Haus entfernt. Von da aus kommt man recht schnell in die Stadt. Gehzeit ins Zentrum beträgt ca. 45 Minuten. Supermärkte sind auch in unmittelbarer Umgebung der Unterkunft. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und empfehlen die Unterkunft weiter.
