"Amazing location at the center of historic Palermo, 2 bedrooms and very nice and accommodating host"

10.0

The location is amazing, exactly in the center of Palermo, between the Duomo and the port, and steps away from San Cataldo, Santa Maria dell'Ammilagrio and the monastery of Santa Caterina (all unmissable). Daniela is the best host: she replied very quickly to our questions, and she explained to us how to park in front of her house and actually moved her own car so we could park ours. She also gave us directions on how to exit the Zona Traffico Limitato the day of our departure. The beds and bedlinen were super comfortable, although I used a firm cushion as pillow because the existing pillows were too fluffy. When we arrived there were two small trays with canoli and dolci that were delicious: an exquisite touch. The kitchen has a nice Lavazza espresso machine and coffee and sugar was provided. Also olive oil, salt, cleaning things, and even a washing machine with washing detergent. It really had almost everything you need.

Sofa in living room was a bit dirty and the cushion seats moved around. The toilet seat was 10cm too small so it moved a bit. There was no shampoo in the bathroom (although there was hand soap), and the kitchen was missing kitchen towels (although there was paper towels), and perhaps a bottle opener and cutting knives would have been nice. Be aware that if you want to bring your car, the apartment is inside the Palermo ZTL so check with the host for instructions, otherwise you may be fined.

"A budget apartment in a good location."

5.0

The location is great for the old town. There are bars and restaurants within a few hundred metres.

We were confused by the reviews until we realised that there are 6 apartments in the block, all separately owned and some residential. So ours didn't reflect the reviews. We had to ask for additional cooking implements and a corkscrew. There were no written instructions for the washing machine and all communications with Dani were by WhatsApp (her husband met us with the keys, but didn't speak English, so there was some confusion).
