Kitchen smell that didn’t go away. Lack of basics, a whole range of unwanted herbs on a broken rack but the basics missing eg salt & pepper. Hand wash, no shower gel. Laundry facility in entrance used as a storage cupboard

The apartment is conveniently located for Morpeth which is a lovely market town. Our only criticism would be the location of the car park for Oldgate which is not easy to access if the adjacent space is occupied.

Excellent location. Beautiful old building. Mattress is comfortable.

Address info on Booking Com is contradictory: the house number is shown as both no. 58 and no. 59. Tried to ring the host about this - no answer. Messaged the host using Booking Com, took a long time to answer, eventually sent very useful full details including photos of each step - claiming that Booking Com "should have sent that info to me," whatever that means. By the way, I was very annoyed to find that I had been charged 60 pounds "cleaning fee" for my 3-night stay. No instructions had been provided on how to lock the main door after entry, I eventually figured out that the handle has to be lifted UP before locking. When I eventually entered the flat, the smell of bleach was so totally overpowering that I had to dump my bags, open a window, leave immediately. When I came back some hours later, the smell had become bearable, but did not dissipate completely until next morning. The evening of my arrival, I was annoyed to find that the internet was not free. The flat is cold and there is a lot of traffic noise from the main road outside. I couldn't understand this (the windows are double-glazed). I investigated and found that the top half of the left-hand sash window is defective, i.e. it can't be completely closed. The duvet cover on the bed was clean but the duvet itself has two disgusting stains on it: one of them seems to be medicinal iodine, I don't want to describe the other one. This duvet should have been thrown away, not put on a bed. In the bathroom, the limiter button on the shower's heat control knob has been broken off and the water initially comes out scalding hot. A child trying to use this unsupervised could get scalded. The bathroom door sticks, I thought I was going to be unable to get out the first time I was in there. There's a similar problem with the door of the flat, I thought I was going to be unable to get out the first time I wanted out.

We had two dogs, and they like to know where we are at all times, so good that everything was on one level. Close to the shops and pubs (for the dogs), the bed was very comfy

The gate was not attached in the small enclosed yard. I would have also liked two sets of keys as you had to lock two doors

parking wasn't good it wasn't cleaned to a good enough standard shower leaked settee needed replacing

Morpeth is a beautiful town with lots of cool bars and restraints. 15 minutes from the beach. Perfect.
