Nicosia City Centre Sky Views Apartment

Although I was initially skeptical about the area and the building ( it looks quite sketchy but is actually just fine) the apartment, although simple, was perfect! The manager of the property, Yiannikis, was the most thoughtful and responsive person I have ever encountered. the apartment pretty much had everything you would need for a pleasant stay but if you found anything lacking you need only contact Yiannikis and he would soon be there with whatever it was you wanted ( heater, toaster, etc.) He even sent his guy Alex to help us find parking. Fantastic views, great balcony, comfy bed, perfect location! 2 euro parking right across the street!

The apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator but if you don’t overpack like we did it is fine and the payoff for being so high up is the great balconies on both sides of the apartment. The electricity is also tricky and the circuit breaker can often be tripped if you are using to many appliances at once but just call Yiannikis and he will have Alex show you how to reset it… very simple.

The property has everything as advertised, which means you have everything you might need to stay there and be comfortable for a few days. The view is nice from both sides of the apartment. The area is in the old town and just 5 minutes from the new fancy streets with bars, shops etc., so you have everything in walking distance. The owner is nice and when I had an issue with the code, he assisted me, and then he called back to ask if it worked fine. The internet connection is fast.

There was a bad smell coming from the toilet (probably the sewage) which meant I needed to have the bathroom window open, and it was kind of cold. The two air conditioning units are not enough to make the place warm for the winter, but cold days are very limited in Cyprus. I think they must work better for the hot summers. The main thing I didn't like was the safety and security of the property. The main entrance of the building is 24/7 open, which means anyone can get inside and the apartment's door is an old, thin, wooden one which can be breached easily. This didn't give me a safety feeling (even though crime rate is low in Cyprus). The door being this old and thin, as well as the windows, meant that there was constant noise coming from other apartments and the street. Lastly, it is stated that there is no elevator, and the apartment is in the highest floor, so if you have heavy laguage, it will be quite a struggle to take it up (approximately 70 steps).

Perfect location for staying in Nicosia. There are major tourist attractions nearby, as well as the convenience and grocery stores. Views on both sides of the city are amazing. The host is super friendly and thoughtful, always ready to help. Definitely would recommend
