Santika Garden Cottage Stellenbosch

It was a quirky place. The outside area was particularly good with a hot tub and a pool. Vanessa our host was great, very responsive and cooked us some delicious vegan meals which were excellent value for money.

The only issue was the WiFi could have been a bit stronger.

The property is extremely comfortable. It has a wonderful pool, which I enjoyed using. The location is excellent: on a farm, but very close to the main road.

The parking is a bit tight. One needs good driving skills!

Location was superb, Host was friendly and so were the other guests. The patio area was our favourite. We enjoyed having our breakfast, lunch and supper there. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub which was quite private too.

The unit lacked sufficient kitchen utensils for making food & eating. Although Netflix streaming is available, the night of our last evening we decided to watch a movie and couldn't because the place "reached the maximum number of users". A major let down was the bed. There's two standard pillows which goes flat when you lay on them...The head board is secured to the floor but separate from the bed, so sitting up in bed or sleeping is very uncomfortable as the bed moves away from the head board. Our first night we both had a terrible sleep which hurt our necks & made us groggy most of the morning but the second night we decided to rather sleep on the foot end of the bed (opposite side) and it was much better. Lastly, the toilet is a bit problematic where it does not flush properly.

The villa was exceptional

The environment, (the pool, the jacuzzi and the views and the vineyards) were just amazing. The fact that the flat is close to many of the great Stellenbosch attractions.

The toilet was a bit of an issue, we battled to flush it.

I was at Santika once before and I had a few suggestions. What I loved, was that the hosts took EVERYTHING I said in my suggestions and implemented it. I was blown away. Hospitality is top notch, bed was comfortable, place was clean, shower definitely improved and the hot tub.........wow! If we could stay at the cottage all weekend without leaving to explore, we would have done that.

Everything was super! We are actually booking our next stay soon.
