AL - Perola Dourada

The apartment is very spacious and clean. It may look not very fancy, but is a perfect place to stay. The kitchen is perfectly equipped (including toaster, coffee machine with the filters, etc.) The view from the balcony is amazing. The private parking was a very nice option to have. It was a bit cold and humid since the apartment is located on the north of the island, however, there were extra blankets available, btw, the pillows and the beds were very comfortable. The apartment is located close to Parque Temático da Madeira which is definitely worth visiting. There are some nice restaurants and shops nearby, the supermarket is 5 min ride from the apartment. And the last, but not least - Maria is a wonderful host!

We spent 3 nights at Perola Dourada and it definitely did not disappoint. The apartment is very spacious and we found it very clean. The kitchen is fully equipped and functional and has everything one needs to prepare their own food. The location of the apartment is quiet and we had great night sleeps. There is also free parking right behind the building for all apartments. The communication with the owner was perfect from the very beginning and throughout our stay. It's a 5 stars for me! ⭐

The apartment was big and as a group of 3, we were able to have one room each, which they had promptly set up. The beds were comfortable and clean, which we much appreciated. Privileged location, close to the typical houses while still being quiet and with a beautiful view. We didn’t expect that they would clean the apartment when we left for the day, but it was welcomed. As we were traveling around the island, having private free parking was ideal.

We noticed a musty/humid smell (that we’re not sure if it was only due to the rainy weather) in the rooms, but it was not present in the bedsheets or towels (which were very clean and well kept). We had two issues with the kitchen: 1) it was very dark and poorly lit. 2) the kitchenware didn’t meet basic needs lacking key, good quality utensils.

The apartment is large, extremely clean, has everything you need and the owner is very kind.

Spacious place. Lovely views. It had all the amenities we needed. Located a short walk into the centre of town.

The host, Maria was very kind, responsive and helpful, eg with tips for restaurants. The flat was well maintained and equipped - with little details like plenty of coat hangers and toilet paper. Everything worked well and whatever we needed was there. We loved the views from our top-floor flat - very enjoyable to eat breakfast looking out over the town and with the sea in the distance. It was also quiet at night. There was a large supermarket 20 mins walk down the hill -easier with a car, and a few small shops 5 minutes away.

I found trying to send my passport details on the phone a bit tricky but that was probably just my tech skills! Although only a very short stretch, the hill up to the property was steep, so not good for people with knee problems, otherwise good exercise. A small point - hooks to hang things, eg in the bathroom would be very welcome. Everything else, very good.

Easy to find, place for parking, woman available in case of question, a lot of equipments. So many towels!!

The bed was too soft for us…
