Dons Place

Stunning location and most hospitable, friendly of hosts. Had all the amenities. More than I thought possible. And the kitchen had a plethora of choices for a satisfying breakfast and snacks. Very generous.

Our stay was too short. Poor timing on our part.

Excellent location with incredible views over Waikawa. Clean and tidy. Very spacious and great value for money.

The views were amazing, overlooking the harbour. Breakfast was included, Don was a very kind and wonderful host, very accomadating.

We really enjoyed our stay here...I wish it was longer than one night. Don's Place has a million dollar view for just a fraction of the price! The deck gave views down the sound and of the marina that were breathtaking. This alone was worth the money. But the rental itself was great as well. It's in a great, quiet location just minutes from Picton. It was large with comfortable furniture, a full kitchen, large tv and several beds. The bathroom has been renovated, the shower pressure was great, the towels were good quality. The eggs, bacon, milk, fruit, and a couple of beers waiting in the fridge were a wonderful touch 🙂 Don was a super friendly, gracious host and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I thought this was a great rental, and not much to comment on. The large bed was comfortable, but my friend said the smaller bed wasn't. I think the mattresses could be updated for better comfort, but by no means did we have bad sleeps. Also, there were some bathroom toiletries (body wash, toothpaste, hand soap), but only a bit of shampoo and no conditioner. I had brought my own so this didn't matter, but offering these two things would be helpful for future guests. Other than that, my stay was wonderful!

What was there not to like about Don's place! Friendly, helpful, top notch knowledgeable host. The unit is spacious, warm, well equipped, immaculately clean etc etc but the VIEW... omg, the photo's do not do it justice! I thoroughly enjoyed my 5day stay & a big bonus was making friends with Woody, the handsome feathered resident ... :-) (The weka signs on the doors made me chuckle but they really are inquisitive & daily visitors) Thanks Don & Patrice for your wonderful hospitality.

The view was great. The flat well equipped. Don is a very nice host and supplied even some fresh fruit. We enjoyed our two days stay very much.

5 minute drive from down town Picton, beautiful location in the hills with great views. Loads of bush walks within a 3 minute walk as well as the local restaurant/bar. Don is a great host, very friendly but also respects his guests privacy. Went the extra mile and lent me his phone charger for the night. I’ll definitely come back. Cheers Don

Our host was very kind and recommended some great food options nearby. We were able relax, enjoy the views and do washing (which was very much appreciated).
