Good shower, excellent location, early check-in

1. The host was not pleasant, was very surly and not welcoming. Didn’t bother to show me around the apartment but then again, the apartment was very small 2. Not very good facilities, were old and feels like things were going to fall off. 3. Coffee machine without any coffee, in fact nothing at all - bare bones! Nothing to make me feel welcome. 4. The kitchen was very tiny

The apartment is in a brilliant location (above a great cafe) and Antonio the host was extremely accommodating and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Very bad experience I have to left and find another place same day, air conditioner not working I called the owner who has a cafeteria under the apartment and he said he will not help me, I asked him to please tell me how to open the windows and he said same as Madrid I told him I am from USA not Madrid. I was crying because I did not feel air, very sad day for me. Thanks God I found other place and walked there and the owner was waiting for me and was so nice. This guy looks that he has some issues with Americans I can see that with his terrible attitude, I was able to have a refund from Booking.com but I hope any of you have this bad experience. and to complete my nightmare I forgot a necklace that my mother gave me and I emailed him to please let me pick up and he said no until Monday the same day that I have to leave to Portugal. I have to run there to pick up my necklace he was so rude, no respect for tourists, hope you take in consideration this before you book that place. Good luck

Great location, comfortable bed, good shower.

Should make it clear that you pick up the keys from the bar below!!! I had no idea as wasn't told in advance. I phoned for help but we could not understand each other!!! Luckily I asked for help in the bar and after showing my printed confirmation, I was given the keys. Quite stressful when no one speaks English and I speak no Spanish!!!

Great location, near to the city center. 15-20 min to the key attractions. There is a great cafeteria at the groud floor.

Absolutely everything

A nice flat, clean, cosy, bright, a good size. Excellent situation 5 minutes to the main tourist centre, near bars, restaurants and supermarket.

The flat - lovely, well equipped, but a couple of little things would improve it: There are 2 chairs - but no dining table (plenty of room for this). The toaster & kettle are difficult (dangerous?) to use - crammed on the sink drainer behind the oversized fridge But.... big problems with arrival, keys, and communication: 1. On Booking.com there is no indication before reservation that there could be a charge for a "special request" (eg for late night arrival). The reservation was non-refundable, so finding out after it would cost +30euros is too late. When we asked Booking.com Assistant (10 Nov) "why does your site not indicate this?" they did not answer the question. 2. After messaging Booking.com, and the host, we accepted there would be a charge for late night arrival. There was no communication about how to get the keys, so we assumed it was all in hand. Our flight arrived 1.5 hours late, so we took a taxi to "Plaza Gavidia" (see 3. below). We arrived at 1.30am - later than we had said. The bar was shut, so we had to ring the host, who angrily told us " keys - Hotel America" (we don't speak Spanish, he didn't speak English). We were tired, and stressed, and it was not very welcoming. 3. The address 'Plaza de Gavidia" is misleading - the taxi took us there, but we could not find the flat. At 1.30am in a strange city, now on foot, with no-one to ask, it took us even longer to find the flat - it is actually in Plaza Concordia. 4. On the second day, as we came out of the flat, the bar owner below shouted at us angrily - we eventually understood it was about the key and registration (again no english spoken). We paid him 30 euros, (we had to assume he was representing the host), and showed our passports, but he kept asking for our wallet - which we refused to give.
