La Morada

Being an avid trail runner and mountain lover, the location was perfect for me, in the highest-situated village on Gran Canaria and in the middle of an area with hundreds of kms of trails (what most people call hiking paths 😁). There are at least 8 main hiking routes that pass through the area. The village is also nice and quiet, and offers everything a traveler might need, from multiple grocery stores, to restaurants, a pharmacy, bank/ATM, and everyone is super friendly. I loved the accommodations, which offered everything that I needed and more. I loved the view, which was the best I ever had, with sights on the islands main natural symbol, Roque Nublo. The owner was great, even though I never met them. They checked in every day through Booking.com to see how things were going and if I needed anything.

We did not have the best weather Artenara can offer but the house is amazing and the view is simpĺy breathtaking. I wish we could have stayed longer. Communication with owners is perfect and the house has everything you need.

The view of the landscape is exceptional. Everything in the apartment worked. Everything you could need was there. Good sized refrigerator. Air conditioning units upstairs and downstairs. Reliable and warm communication from host. Appreciated the welcome gift :)

I believe it is not in the host’s direct control, however the physically and emotionally neglected dog chained up adjacent to the terrace did cause us moral distress. It was difficult to relax in proximity to this poor dog’s suffering. He is not cared for by the owners (no food or water for several days), so please take care of him whilst you stay. He is friendly and obedient (though a bit excitable due to lack of mental stimulation) - he even plays games of fetch and tug of war. Please check his food and water, as his survival is threatened by the neglect of his owners. You can also report to local animal welfare charities like Pet Pals GC to try to help.

Great location with an outstanding view. Parking always available. Flat had almost everything you need for short stay. Great location in the heart of Artenara. Good driving distance from all hikes in the area. Very good amenities.

Really not much to complain about. Lack of oven in case you’d need to heat some ready meal. Spotty WiFi upstairs. Hot water tank was just enough for 2 people but it’s not really a con.

The place was exactly like the pictures, beautiful. It's in a quiet area very accesible with a few restaurants nearby (15 min by car). The terrace and the view is a huge bonus. Very clean, great communication with the host.

Bathroom door opens to the inside and leaves very little space.

This is the second time that we have stayed her and we enjoy being in the centre of the town with immediate access to hiking and restaurants. The terrace has wonderful views. It is helpful to have a washing machine.

Nothing really apart from having to go downstairs to use the loo in the middle of the night!
