The Annex

A very small and unique flat is very comfortable during the summer time by how chill the floors can be during the day to night time. The host was very nice in clearing the bins and made sure the place was nice, welcoming, and spotless, including providing casual things like a lovely mixing bowl when mentioned. It really is a gorgeous hidden gem. It's based in a lovely little village with an eight minute train ride into Carlisle or anywhere else along the western coast. Being here, you are in the perfect place to do anything from shopping in the Carlisle lanes to visiting the lovely countryside as far as Caldbeck. It's really a great middle ground, and the pricing is well worth it for the comfort and accessibility!

I do not recommend walking around in the upstairs without the light on! As even with them on, I occasionally bumped my head on the wooden posts or the slanted ceiling. It's also very easy to stub your toes.

Cosy cottage type accommodation. Very clean and comfortable bed.

Very clean, quiet and comfortable place. I really recommend this apartment. Very easy to check in and all the information provided on the day of arrival by the host. Easy to find the place as well.

The quirkiness

The TV was too high and not smart

The Annex was well appointed and cozy. It was cleaned to a high standard and made our weekend break relaxing. The wood burner is a nice touch too for cozy evenings.

The facilities are adequate but basic, a few things would have come in handy like oven gloves and a side table for drinks but nothing major that you can’t do without for a few days!

Very clean and well kept. Location was exactly what I needed for a weekend working in Carlisle. Easy to unwind and relax in a quiet location. I'll be checking if this is available next time.

Very quirky, unusual place to stay. The upstairs is fascinating- exposed beams and low ceilings but includes a bath and washing machine. We loved the compactness of the whole property and it suited us as a couple. It’s very well located in the centre with good access to a supermarket, chip shop, pub and a lovely local butcher. The WiFi was very good too.

Perhaps a better dining table and chairs as they felt a bit rickety. Also the name and number on the external door would have been helpful too.
