The Old School

Very nice and spacious apartment with fully equipped kitchen and direct access to a great garden. Very friendly host and no extra charge for the dog. Nice walks in the area.

It was warm, kitchen facilities were good, lovely crockery. Bathroom facilities/hot water supply was good.

Top bunk bed frame was loose and squeaky. As it was termed the “old School house” we had not expected it to be a mid 20th century building. Inside lacked ambience that represented the school theme. Was disappointed to not see an old Bunsen burner/test tubes or art work or posters to reflect and represent the science theme. The bathroom door frame around the handle was grimy and we gave it a good scrub, otherwise the place was very clean.

Hosts provided great information about area a.d places to visit. A friendly community.

The apartment was excellent, finished to a very high standard. Carol & Sam were very welcoming. The shortbread left for us was amazing. The location was beautiful. The roads once we got used to them were good. Would highly recommend this location and excellent hosts.

There was nothing apart from weather to dislike.

Great location on the shore of Loch Awe. The hosts were lovely, welcoming and communicative about a hitch with our payment. The apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable. We were there to explore the loch and it's about a two minute walk to the shore, where we were able to launch our inflatable kayak with ease.

There's not much to see or do in a village with about 50 houses, one cafe and one bar, so make sure you bring any equipment you're going to need because there's nowhere close to hire adventure kit. This isn't a negative for us, but it's important that you know what you're letting yourself in for!
