Straightforward no hassles

My husband and I stayed in the ground floor flat and it was adequate for both of us. The location was great for getting around but there were small things that could have been easily improved on. The light at the door entrance wasn’t working which wasn’t great. The toilet seat had seen better days as did the toilet roll/brush holder. The cloth in the kitchen was covered in stains of some sort, a new one wouldn’t have been that expensive to put in place also the wall behind the bin in the kitchen area had dirty marks on it.

We loved the location, the flat was perfect for our needs, very cosy and homely, the contented sole was a great place to eat, we visited, melrose, holy island, berwick and walked around eyemouth, its a lovely town, very welcoming,

The beds were soft, when getting in you sink into the middle, i have some health issues and this was not good for me. also poor lighting in bedroom, very dull

Right by harbour and coastal path. Easy access to places to visit in local area. We had a lovely time exploring (lucky with the weather). Had a nice swim in the sea which is a 2min walk away. Eyemouth is clearly being developed to encourage visitors. The icecream place is worth a visit.

Parking is not included like information states. You either risk parking on double yellow lines or pay (you don’t need to pay evening and overnight but this ends early morning). The lady who gave us the key stated free parking changed recently but hasn’t updated booking.com info as it puts people off booking. Yes it does, as it’s an inconvenience and when you’re on holiday you don’t want that. Additionally, I luckily chatted to the guy employed to clear weeds from the entrance area. He was returning the next day to spray a very strong weed killer which is toxic to animals. This absolutely should not have been planned knowing I had a dog staying - it could have ended in a very traumatic vets visit. No consideration or thought by the owner. Not that anyone can do anything about it but the seagulls are very loud - take ear plugs. They start extremely early, assume when the fishing boats are starting to go out. No wifi so zaps your data - assume this is to try and encourage you to go to the pub and use their Wi-Fi. This also meant very few channels on the TV to watch on an evening. Didn’t notice no Wi-Fi at booking stage so this is now a vital search of a property as sometimes I need to work in evenings. Personally I do not approve of the local guy selling fish on a rod to feed the seal.

A plug for the bathroom basin. The shower sliding door needs lubricating or repair.

No soap or toiletries, minor maintenance issues like leaking bathroom radiator.

V basic accommodation. This place is cheap and you get what you pay for.

Eyemouth was very beautiful and quiet, with very friendly people around
