Nothing But View

The view was fantastic

Kitchen was to small for 5 people

Location is exceptional. Large patio with very ample seating. Panoramic view of the sea with special seating supplied for prolonged sea viewing. Fire pit for jolly evenings with the whole family sitting around the fire. Comfortable beds. Ample seating in the sitting/dining room. Compact but well-supplied kitchen. Books, board games are supplied. My wife immediately took control of the coffey-nook and there she sat doing her sudoku and looking out at the sea. We used the gravel access road to HBC to bypass the informal settlement but in all fairness it is not a big deal if you do drive past the settlement. Getting the keys is a little like a treasure hunt ending with opening the lockbox with the code supplied. At first we worried about how to manage the key when two groups each want to go their own way, but in the end we simply put the key back in the lockbox and the first to arrive back would just use the code and get the key again. Simple when you think about it. Sort of treasure-hunty for our youngsters. Access to the sea is just around the corner from the accommodation block and the same for getting to the clubhouse. We parked our second car in front of the clubhouse. Security is good with a guard on foot patrol regularly passing by. The new harbour is just a short car trip away. I counted three restaurants but we did not make use of any of them on this trip. The cement walkways built along the seafront are very rough, so bring footwear with good soles.

There are two flights of stairs to get to the accommodation. To be fair this is mentioned on the accommodation information. Also the stairs have handrails on either side of the steps, so not difficult to navigate.

Apartment located in access contolled Beach Club, perfect to visit downtown Hermanus. Host friendly and helpful - with very good foresight even to tackle all kind of inconveniances - such as load shedding - South Africa might offer

location might not be to everyones liking, but perfect for a stay of a couple of days!!!
