Excellent views, wonderful service and a beautiful swimming pool. Eleni’s food is delicious!

We spent 10 days at the property, so we were able to get a good perspective. The secluded nature of the location offered a peaceful and private experience – it felt like we almost had the entire place to ourselves. We especially chose it because we wanted a true retreat. The views are magnificent, and you can hear the bleating of the goats browsing in the beautiful Cypriot brush all around. The mountain rises majestically behind the property and casts a shadow in the early evening, which was a relief in the burning summer heat. The air conditioning in the room worked efficiently, we would have been lost without it. The studio was comfortable and appointed in a ‘rustic’ design style – easily seen in the description photos. There is a terrace, which is nice for relaxing when it is shaded, and all the basic equipment is provided in the kitchen. It is about 10 minutes’ drive to the Krousonas, the local village on a very winding but beautiful drive, if you need basic supplies. Our host, Eleni, and her husband were genuinely hospitable, and communication in English was a breeze.

As noted, we chose the remote location with a pool as a retreat, however this turned out not quite as we had hoped. All during the hot summer days, the swimming pool was infested with hundreds of thirsty wasps. The owners did make some attempts to control this after we complained, however it was more like closing the door after the horse had bolted, so the only time we were managed to enjoy the pool and the area around it was after 18:00 when it became shaded by the mountain, and the wasps were less active. This severely limited the amount of time we had hoped to spend just relaxing by the pool; besides we were all stung at least once! We investigated this, and with planning BEFORE the swimming season the number of wasps can be greatly limited. BUT this requires foresight, and we are most disappointed that we suffered because no care was taken in this regard. Steps were taken, but they were ineffectual. Also, a little update to the kitchen might enhance the overall experience for upcoming visitors.

Arrived late in the evening on a motorcycle in pouring rain and wet to the bone, but the place and the owner made us immediately feel comfy. One advice: dont try to follow directions from Google maps. When you arrive at Krousonnas, just follow the green signs to the guesthouse.

The quiet location and the pool attracted us to the guesthouse. The host is preparing breakfast or dinner if you wish, our dinner was very delicious.

There was a broken shower that we were informed would be repaired but wasn't. Nonetheless, this was a minor inconvenience, to the extent that I did not bother to remind about it either
