Beach Front Paradise

Our apartment was spotless and incredibly comfortable. Clean and big space. Good amenities, a nice pool, and friendly staff. Good surroundings."We had an amazing time over there.

Location right on the Nilaveli beach, nice pool (though why they don't do their maintenance on it outside the indicated pool hours is beyond me... they did it during morning hours) and garden to relax (could do with more loungers considering the number of guests staying). Easy walk on the beach or through the road to several small restaurants (we recommend Tutu's!), 15 minute tuktuk ride to Uppuveli beach.

After booking 8 months in advance the owner of the apartment sent us a message 2(!) days before arrival stating: "I kindly request to cancel the renovation or change the date from August 2nd to 6th please. Due to some delays in renovations, we could not accommodate you on the 31st of July to August 2nd. We also try to accommodate you with the other units, unfortunately there are no units available. Please accept our apologies. Thanks for your understanding, Shan Thayaparan" First of all, unprofessional as as a client you are not allowed to cancel, but then the owner does 2 days in advance, when all travel arrangements are made and very low availability of alternatives...? Leaving you to arrange something else and having to move your stuff again. Incredible! BUT imagine our 'surprise' upon checkin (after spending two nights elsewhere first, already suspecting something was not right with the cancellation message) to find there were still guests in the apartment! The whole renovation excuse apparently was a lie to get a better rate out of other guests. So, stay at Oceanfront Condos, but not at the apartment of this owner!! The apartment itself could actually do with some 'renovations': kitchen cabinets look like they are falling apart, utensils are a shabby mix of things (we did not use them to cook/eat) and lots of stains on furniture. Besides this, all is functioning though. Also, our tv was not working when we arrived: subscription was suspended (not paid for), took us a lot of complaining (and 2 days) to get it to work again. WIFI also stopped working after 1 day, this too took several complaints (and 1 day) to reception to get it up and running again. Not what you would expect of an apartment like this. We signed in on the WIFI of the downstairs apartment in the meantime (low signal but worked) as the login credentials of all units are structured the same way (not very safe).

We were lucky with apartment 3-1-1 l. This one was amazing, clean , balcony with pool/sea view. So almost perfect. The pool and beach is absolutely amazing. All apartments have different owners so the staff can't do much about it. Our wifi never worked for example. And downstairs they don't provide wifi.

No towels, no toilet paper. Check in at 14:00 but the restaurant closes at 15:00. At 18:00 they open but we're understaffed so we had a big problem with our dinner taking 2 hours ( my mum had a basic green salad and the kids burgers..) We did settled it with the nice manager the next day. They are still learning and improving. But to eat with a family with kids I recommend going somewhere else. The prices are too high compared with the overal waiting time. My advice is shorten the menu, prepare the burgers a bit in advance. Than bake and cook more tables at the same time and serve one table at a time. DONT cook one table at a time. Serve burgers, salads and rice and at least two curries. Keep it simple but make sure that its great what you serve. Good luck!

The place was nice looking, had nice surroundings and nice arrangements fulfilling what guests may look for when they are at a short stay.

Nothing I found that I didn't like. The property was a very good value for money.

The location and a few good staff.

In a beautiful location,in my opinion it is been badly managed from my entry to exit. On my check-in, Security guard didn't know the name condominium. I was sent to the wrong place instead of letting us in. Luckily met a staff on the street and he has guided us in. Security locker was out of order and never been fixed even after complaining. No shampoo,shower gel, milk powder/ cream normally these are found in any accomodation. When we were checking out in the morning around 8am, there was no front desk staff.we were told to wait for the front desk staff. After bit of argument Security guard called someone and managed to get someone to check our condominium. After he said all clear to the manager our vehicle was held up by the security saying they need to check the condominium. This stage I need to challenge the manager for the reason. Then only we were let out of the hotel. Overall apart from the nice beach and pool, this could have been my worst experience of any accomodations I have stayed in.

The condor was nice and clean. Plenty of room for 6 guests. Beautiful location good size pool and easy access to the beach.

The road entering the property needs some maintenance. Too many potholes. Also there were some finishing touches to be completed in the condor.

The apartment was spacious.

Although we had made the bookings 3 days prior the owner failed to inform us that the air condition and the fan in the living room was not functioning. It was so hot and so frustrating.When complained they said it was working fine but some issue had come up suddenly. We were not even informed on arrival. The caretaker there knew that it was not working but chose just to ignore. He told us he will have a look at the cable TV which was also not working. But never returned back to check on it.
