The Pond Lodges Barstobrick

Everything about the place was beautiful, I liked that it was very quiet and gave us the much needed rest away from the city. A lot of privacy, cleanliness and helpful staff.

The bed was not comfortable and the shower water not very hot. The place could benefit from also little free sachets of salt, little soaps, toothpaste and stuff in case you forgot to bring your own.

The location was excellent very quiet and relaxing with great scenery and not too far from local places

The bed could do with an upgrade

Very quiet location, the layout of the lodges ensured privacy. The lodge itself is very well planned with excellent use of space, clean and with modern furnishings and appliances. Simple cooking for two is do-able. The shower-room is lovely, with good water pressure and excellent shower. I loved the the outside decking area.

The bed was rather bouncy and the frame noisy. I hate plastic-backed mattress covers!

Location was fantastic. It was very quiet and didn't see many people. The hot tub was lovely, set away from the cabin, you weren't seen by anyone. The added bonus were deer in the field next to the cabin every evening. The cabin itself was very clean and well presented. All of them are nicely spaced out and very private. The added instructions once inside were a nice touch and very handy. It was also lovely to see and hear the horses in the morning (they were never too noisy though). Would definitely book again!

The only real issue was no oven glove was found/provided.

Peaceful location. Clean. Comfortable bed. We were able to go for an evening walk straight from the property.

These are small points, but worth saying: We did not see the owners during our stay. Seeing as they were on the property, it would have been good for someone to call around and check that everything was ok. We could not get the oven to work, no doubt we were doing something wrong, but we could not find an instruction booklet. It is a fairly isolated location, so, given the price, salt and pepper, a pint of milk and small loaf would have been appreciated. There were only 4 tiny plastic pots of UHT milk in the fridge and nothing else. A coin-operated washer/dryer in one of the nearby farm buildings would be good.

The lodge was very well put together and interior was very clean. Location & surroundings were great for us-very peaceful. Loved the hot tub and the local walks.

I would’ve expect the pillows to be better quality, possibly an extra bin bag & tea towel would’ve came in handy. For the price I think a few complimentary toiletries would be good. Also a BBQ/fire pit area would be great..there was a lot of flies.
