"Beautiful, quiet location"

10.0

Quavers rest is a very small but beautiful little place to stay. It is set in a tiny little village, but you're not too far from the shops. The people there are so friendly and very helpful. The kitchen is very well equipped and very clean. There was plenty of hot running water and a very comfy bed

There was nothing about Quavers rest that we didn't like. It was perfect

A lovely little hidden gem, Quavers Rest is in a very quiet area and is around 20 minutes away from Snetterton race course. There is everything that you need and it is clean and comfortable.

"The Devil is in the Detail or Caveat Emptor. Sadly disappointing. Our expectations not met."

3.0

All in all the accommodation is very well appointed with a fine shower, good cooking facilities including the fridge, a two ring induction hob, and plenty of pans, cutlery and plates. The décor and little knick-knacks make for a very pleasant ambiance and there’s even a decent television.

The description on Booking.com does state that the premises are pet-friendly. And had we paid more attention we would have noticed that the single room held a double bed and bed settee. We mistakenly thought it was a two-room accommodation. Upon entering we were assailed by the pungent smell from the plug-in air fresheners, of which there were two. That was a clue to something. As I am allergic to synthetic fragrances – and these were very powerful – I unplugged them straightaway. As with most old properties there is a musty smell at Quavers Rest. Once the air-freshener perfume subsided this became apparent. Once we got home it was necessary to air our luggage and launder everything that had been in the room. This is a difficult problem to resolve in an old property. Our twenty-five year old son used the bed settee. Suffice to say, it’s seen better days. Sitting down carefully was the order of the day if you didn’t want to risk injury. The following morning his allergy to pets was full blown and he was rapidly going through tissues. Whilst outwardly clean, there must have been residual microbial activity that caused an allergic response. In terms of customer service: Gwyneth is a lovely lady, passionate about her home. Whilst she was extremely polite, her defence of perceived criticism seemed at times rude and aggressive to some. I don’t think this was intended, just over zealous. The other drawback to the property is the lack of ventilation. Apart from the two entrance doors there are no windows or vents that can be opened. And my final gripe relates to the fridge. It’s secreted away, very tidily, inside a cupboard. The cupboard is situated adjacent to the bed and near to the sleeper. The noise of the fridge cutting in and out was enough to wake people up. The problem being its proximity. If the bed was situated the other side of the room, where the settee is, this wouldn’t occur. We would love to return despite earlier misgivings but perhaps our allergies will ma

"Really comfortable quiet location."

10.0

The room was really clean and well presented. It had excellent facilities and was comfortable to sleep in. Being pet friendly made it even better.

It would have been useful to have had two keys to the property or a means to lock the door from the inside without the key as the only way to lock the door was with the key. This meant where I got up earlier than my wife and took the dog out, I either had to lock her in (as you couldn’t open the door without a key) or wake her up to lock me out.

"Pleasant"

6.0

Lovely little apartment in a quiet area, close to my daughter's place of work. Clean and tidy, self contained.

The listing on Booking.com is slightly misleading. It is listed as one bedroom, livingroom, kitchenette and toilet with walk-in shower. But actually the bed is in the living space not in a separate room. It is an annexe of the main house so can be quite noisy every time someone leaves or enters the main house.

The space was really well thought out.

Dirty utensils and the cottage is attached to the owners house and they bang the door so you can hear when they do.
