Modern comfortable lovely apartment. Our room was in the top floor so we had a lot of steps to climb but we had ocean views from both angles. Air conditioning was perfect and our welcome bottle of wine was very kind form our lovely host

Beautiful apartment. Spotlessly clean. Lovely welcome from the owner with helpful welcome pack and great communication. Location great and the coffee bar beneath was great for breakfast and post dinner drink. Loads of places to eat and drink locally. Lovely city/town to wander round. Would thoroughly recommend Casa Barone.

Perfect location, beautiful view from the terrace, in the heart of Ortigia

The location at the very entrance to Ortigia Island, close to city transport, restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. The cleanliness and tasteful modern decor of the apartment. The exquisite graciousness of the host/owner. The separate bedroom from the master bedroom. The fully equipped kitchen, ironing facilities and washing machine.

Loud noise in the piazza outside (music and singing), especially on Friday and Saturday night until past midnight. The apartment is not appropriate for those with mobility issues: there are 59 steps to reach the apartment (no elevator), and 10 steep and narrow steps to climb up and down to reach the marine shower and washing machine in the mezzanine level half a floor below the main part of the apartment. The marine shower floods easily as drainage is poor. The beds and sofa are ultra-modern (extremely low, not ideal for the elderly). Apart from these limited issues (which will not affect most travelers), the apartment provided a wonderful experience in Siracusa.
