Valletta Republic Suite

Coming to the apartment we realized it was not cleaned from previous guests (dirty dishes, trash, dirty bed, bathroom). After contacting them they promised to clean, but we still ended up sleeping on dirty sheets for whole week because they stopped answering the phone. They have some hygine problems.

It was a nice space with good airconditioning en a very good place in the middle of the city. The sheets smelled and looked clean. They gave us adapters which is nice in case we forgot that. The way to get our keys was also very easy and that made checking in and out also very fast and easygoing.

The bed was very uncomfortable and lumpy, it made a lot of noise. The toilet flush didn’t always work and you had to push three to four times very hard to start it. The shower had some kind of fungus looking stuff in the corner and the shower head didn’t always stay in the air. The stove could use a manual on how to use it but once we figured it out it was alright. You could hear almost everything that was going on in the apartment of others. From a crying baby to a phone that rang. The airconditioning was very nice but it made a lot of noise that we couldn’t turn down a little and once the ac was off it got hot very quickly. The tv worded but there were no channels to go through and once we put Netflix on we couldn’t scroll or put any of the show ons because the controller didn’t work.

The location. It was right in the center of Valletta. There was also a fully equipped kitchen plus a hairdryer available and adaptors for our phones since Malta doesn’t use the standard European chargers. The WiFi was also pretty good.

Everything was obviously dirty. The sheets, the pillows, the shower, even the walls and ceiling were covered in cobwebs. There was a strong smell in the whole room as well. Like the room had been closed off for years. We left the windows open but the smell didn’t get any better. Also the bed was quite uncomfortable. The mattress was thin and the bed was super squeaky. Every time someone turns around on the bed we both woke up from the noise.
